How did that come about?
2:47
I don't know.
2:49
I feel like a lot of people were doing edits to Off Campus, and then Antonio commented on one of the videos, and I literally messaged him.
2:58
Actually, no, that didn't happen.

You lied.

so i've been doing this for like nine years yeah um my career has kind of like gone a little bit up and down um had some success here and there took two years off the past two years and then came back with babydoll i feel like i needed something to say you know i mean i feel like for a long time i was doing everything that everybody else wanted me to be if there was a pop boy working at the time they would try and make me that pop boy and do all the music that wasn't jamie and then i was like i'm gonna give it my last shot this year and i was just like i'm gonna do the music i make i'm not gonna listen to everybody anybody and i wrote a whole album yeah baby doll kind of was the first song to go out there and it kind of There's something so beautiful about trusting your gut.

Give us a 411 on the track because then I want to talk about like this insane viral response that you've been having from like some huge names.

Yeah.

um i i just wrote the song i remember writing it with my two best friends haley and michael and just in in the moment i was like god this is like makes me so happy it brought me so much joy um and i think for most of my career i've done sad sad music so i didn't really think i would ever make an imprint on the world with a happy song okay because i think my whole career has just been sad been kind of depressed my whole career um and then yeah i posted it and the reaction was like from the first video was like pretty intense like yeah just positive like from all corners of the world like kids in africa to like young my nephew is like uh has autism yeah and he doesn't know any lyrics to any song but he knows the song to baby doll oh wow and that became a like kind of a phenomenon with like kids with autism and then it kind of was like trickled into like and grandma and grandpas and then, I don't know, it's just like the most beautiful thing to watch something I wrote in the studio come to life in a way that I've never seen before.
