I mean, we're talking about a guy who the A's really expect to be an ace there.

So, you know, get a veteran guy in the rotation, someone who, you know, is as disappointing as Luis Severino has been for his contract.

You got Vegas as your AAA ballpark.

Jamie Arnold at the Futures game didn't seem super excited about pitching there either.

There's nothing positive right now as far as the two main ballparks where you're pitching against.

You talk about hitter Evan.

I mean, you can see how much.

you know, things just started to change for the A's.

Once you had a Jacob Wilson, a Nick Kurtz, you know, you just, and now Jamie Arnold coming around, you know, you just draft those right guys.

And man, it just turns, everything around you, you miss out on a few number one picks, you know, and there was a stretch where they did that, you know?

Yeah, for sure.

Number six is Jamie Arnold.

He was their first rounder last year out of Florida State.

Had a pretty bad year this year.

I don't think people realize how bad of a year Jamie Arnold had this year.

I think most people probably have Arnold ranked higher in their athletics organization rankings than I do.

But he was pretty bad, man.

Yeah, for sure.

Number six is Jamie Arnold.

He was their first rounder last year out of Florida State.

So he throws a fastball that's a sinker, and then he also throws a sinker.

Jamie Arnold will finish the year with meaningful innings in the big leagues, including in the postseason as the A's are in a wild card spot.

I mean, they missed out by a mere 20 games.

Had they promoted Jamie Arnold to the big leagues,

then maybe.

We're going to add selectively, we're going to control long-term obligations, and we're going to see how much improvement comes from within." There is a defensible argument for that.

If you have prospects approaching the major leagues, you don't necessarily wanna block them with expensive veterans, say a young prospect like a Jamie Arnold, a Leo DeVries maybe.

If you have young pitchers who need innings, you don't wanna guarantee three years to somebody simply because he's available.

But here's my problem.

Yeah, I think, uh, we're gonna see a lot of those top college arms from that 2025 class come up in 2027.

Gage Wood, um, Liam Doyle, Jamie Arnold.

Um, I think there... it's gonna be... that, that wave of, of pitching is gonna be coming around mid-season, I think.

So, um, Wood, I mean, it's, there's not a ton of depth outside of the Phillies starting five, so, um, he could, he could be in there for sure.

But the most efficient way to create a good pitching staff, to create a good team in general, is to develop talent.

And so if the A's can find a way to develop these arms like Jamie Arnold's, develop these arms like Henry Baez, develop these arms like Braden Nett, dev- develop these arms like whoever's gonna come around in the future, you can kind of fix this problem of pitchers maybe not wanting to come and pitch for you, whether it's set in Sacramento or whether it's la- in Las Vegas.

So again, it all comes back to player development.

I think that this is a real problem that Jason Burke pointed out in his article.

So anyway.

As for bullpen, a new GM has to bring in s- some good ones, so now I'm confident in all of our position players.

I know we keep on talking about Brady Singer.

We're almost trying to manifest it into reality.

Uh, Jamie Arnold, I would love to see him come up to the big leagues.

They don't have a rotation to speak of.

He relies primarily on his low to mid-90s fastball and mid-80s sweeper.

This is my kind of pitcher.

Jamie Arnold could benefit from developing a deeper repertoire, but staying around the zone and avoiding walks is the biggest thing for him.
