D- would the UN cooperate if they said in the beginning, "We're gonna waive the death penalty for this particular case"? The Americans did it when they extradited some, the ISIS guys who beheaded Jim Foley in the United States, 'cause the Brits said, "No, we won't extradite because we have a protocol that says no death pen-" And so they said, "Okay, we waive it." You know, the worst he can get is, uh, life in prison, although I've always thought for a jihadi, death is what they want, uh, and a life sentence is a bigger punishment than being executed.
D
61:40Deborah AmosGUEST
But that's just me.
D
61:42Deborah AmosGUEST
Um, and so I don't know how that works with the UN if some cases don't have it.
