James the Less

And C, those relating to the history of Pilate.

The origins of the traditions are the Proto-Evangelium of James, the Gospel of Thomas, and the Acts of Pilate.

All or most of the others can be referred to these three as compilations, modifications, or amplifications.

There is abundant evidence of the existence of many of these traditions in the second century, though it cannot be made out that any of the books were then in existence in their present form.

The greater number of the authorities on the subject, however, seem to agree in assigning to the first four centuries of the Christian era the following five books.

One, the Proto-Evangelium of James.

Two, the Gospel of Pseudo-Matthew.

Three, the History of Joseph the Carpenter.

Lori was asking the women to look up scriptures about James the Less.

Chad had told Lori in a previous life they had been married to each other and he had been James the Less.

She was his wife, Elena.

I remember this one from being younger and going to strip clubs.

Oh yeah, you know, I'm a doctor.

I'm this, that, the other thing.

But this has taken it to a whole nother level, huh? saying that he's James the Lesser, more like Chad the Dumber.

He's the next one on our list.

Uh, some of the times that James is mentioned, he's mentioned as James the Less.

So James the Less.

Now, I don't think, based upon God's character or the way Scripture is written, that it, that it means that he was an any less importance or that he was any less loved.

I, I think that he was probably just less tall than the other James, and he had to be distinguished from the other James.

Or maybe he was less, less old than the other James, or maybe he was just less loud than the other James, or maybe less angry than the other.

Remember, the other James is the son of Zebedee, also known as Son of Thunder.

But either way, he's mentioned one time in scripture as James the Less, and he's mentioned four other times in scripture as James, the son of Alphaeus.

And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out and gave up the ghost, he said, 'Truly this man was the Son of God.' There were also women looking on afar off, among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and Joses and Salome.

Who also, when He was in Galilee, followed Him and ministered unto Him.

Many other women which came up with Him unto Jerusalem.

Then we have some women also witnessing the death of Christ.

These were loyal women, loyal ladies who were, uh, who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and were devoted to Him.

Verse 40, "There were also women looking on afar off, among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome.

Who also, when He was in Galilee, followed Him and ministered unto Him.

Joseph, or Joses, brother of Jesus.

Joseph, or Joses, the brother of James the Younger, and Joseph Barnabas.

Okay.

Joseph Barabas.

There's Joseph Barsabas and Joseph Barnabas.

Yeah, there you go.

Look, I didn't know about the brother of James the Younger called Joseph.

That's a new one to me.

The third group is...

And here it is, James the Less.

James was a very common name.

And Thaddeus, or Labaius.

You know, they're hearing that.

I believe that was true with Judas Iscariot.

Again, when you see how he groups them together, I believe Judas was either with James the Less or Thaddeus or Simon the Zealot.

And they had power.

And then there's James, son of Alphaeus.

Sometimes he's called James the Less.

He is also one of the original 12 apostles.

And then James the Just, who is not, he is not one of the original 12.

As to the testimony of individuals, it is interesting to note that some of the greatest philosophers, scientists, poets, moralists, and many men of note in different walks of life in past and modern times have for various reasons been vegetarians, among whom have been named the following.
