James Plowright

I'm doing an interview with really the last remaining beat reporter for the Charlotte Hornets.

His name is James Plowright, and we've been doing an email exchange back and forth on what would a Diabate trade look like? What is Charlotte looking for from their perspective? Who on our team do they like? And then what would we need and what would we be willing to give up? Because we both agree the Hornets have all the leverage in any conversation because we need them more than they need us.

Yeah, they're not competing for a championship, you know, so they can nickel and dime us as much as they want.

Yeah, I think Diabate will be a nick.

A team that I think had one of the best off seasons.

Joining me to talk about them is James Plowright from the Busby podcast.

We're going to talk about every move they did while I explain all the mechanics from a salary cap perspective.

That is all coming up.

They said this was a defining question of the summer and the results show a narrow majority of support supporting the trade package Charlotte received from Minnesota.

He said, James Plowright says in the deal, he says, personally, I prefer Charlotte's side of the deal and spectacle of the team's long-term trajectory and the ball's injury history creates significant risk.

If that happens, the trade could go down as one of the greatest sell-high moves in franchise history.

With the next question coming in, he said, is the time right for the Hornets to package players and picks and trade for All-Star? 62% says yes.

There's a lot of Sabonis there, but I think defensively he moves his feet a little bit better.

There are those, shout out to James Plowright of, uh, Buzby, that believes that he can be a four.

I'm not sure I f- can fully go there just yet.

If he learns how to maximize his length, sure.
