And what like was there like before the cancer diagnosis, was there like something that was happening, like symptoms you were having or what kind of prompted you to get like... seen or the workup for that? It's a

really good question.

And it's another subject I really like to touch on because the colorectal cancer is the second leading killer next to lung cancer.

And the main reason is that most people get diagnosed late.

And by the time you get diagnosed, it's stage four.

Once it's stage four, it's toothpaste out of the tube.

You're not getting it back in.

Iron Man branded race, through all of what you've gone through, do you feel that there's something that God is trying to show you, that he's trying to teach you? And how have you taken that and moved forward with

They've got brightly colored beaks, and they're, they're black and white, and, uh, th-they're, they're very endearing.

Um, they're beautiful birds, but they are at risk, and one of the way that conservationists tell how they're doing is they have to go onto very remote islands.

So they're found throughout Scotland and the Scottish Islands, and you have to get to the island, then you have to climb on.

The weather can be horrendous.

You've got to then stick your arm down a burrow, and they can be meters into the ground to feel whether there's a puffling in there, which is a baby puffin, believe it or not.

And that tells you how they're doing.

Now, that's extremely difficult to do.

Do we need to start thinking about that now?

Yeah.

Uh, I've been a lifelong triathlete, lifelong, you know, I've been doing, done over 300 races.

And so I got a message from a friend on Facebook that said, "You know, we know somebody in IRONMAN." I was like, "Okay." Well, I reached out, we connected, and, uh, reminisced a bit, and then Audra asked if there was anything she could do for me.

And I said, "Yeah, if you can get me into Kona, that'd be great." And that's when we decided to, um, you know, attempt to raise $100,000.

Yeah

... and racing.

Uh, the unwelcome pain is the, you know, the cancer and the health stuff, so.

Uh, but I credit, I credit my disciplined lifestyle, my health and fitness for, for a lot of my ability to survive as long as I have.

We found a less active family there to go visit, and so we're

we'reWe go and we, we got invited in and we're speaking with this less active family, and we're teaching them, and we asked them to go get their, their Books of Mormon, and, you know, they had old copies that they had and, and whatnot.

And as we're teaching them, you know, the spirit was strong and, you know, the father, he asked me what my, what my name was, and I said, "Oh, it's, it's Elder Logan," you know, and thought he had forgotten.

It was the first time we'd been there, you know, but, you know, he, he said, "No, no, what's your first name, Elder?" And I said, "Well, you know, my first name is James, but, you know, people, they call me Butch.

That's kind of my nickname growing up." And, and, uh, this guy, he just started to cry and, you know, he, he opened up this Book of Mormon, and it had my testimony written in it from when I was a youth, when I was 12 years old, 13 years old.

[laughs] Oh, cool.

So, you know, I...

So I, I've definitely, uh-

Mm-hmm.

You know, it's just a great feeling.

And entering into the cancer centers and the, and the infusion rooms, which the infusion rooms, everybody kinda sits together.

You're not in a private room.

We're all 30 people in a room.

Everybody there for, you know, same reason somewhat.

And there's just this eerie silence and this eerie morbidity that I just didn't think was necessary, this overwhelming despair, and it really brought me down.

Oh, yeah.
