Here's James to tell us about his piece, The Vast Infinity.

Hi, I'm James Kahn, and my song, The Vast Infinity, is from my album of Irish sea shanties I released a few years ago, many of which are kind of dark and gloomy, reflecting, uh, the problems related to climate change.

But this one is meant to be much more uplifting, and it is just a song of joy, and, uh, uh, asking us to, no matter what else is going on, uh, in these dark days, to throw ourselves into the arms of whatever vast infinity we believe in, uh, and, and relax.

Um, the, uh, the bones being played, uh, by Sharon Termons in this video are at- the actual rib bones of a cow that was born and raised, uh, on the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland.

And the, uh, Irish clog dancer, um, Hannah Logar, was the regional clog dancing champion, uh, for three years running, uh, on the West Coast, west of the Rockies.

So it's, uh, it's a, a joyous, uh, piece of Irish jiggery, and I hope you could all have a good time with it.

... invited her, uh, it was Kathleen Kennedy, and she came down to the ER with Melissa Mathison, neither one of whom we knew or had ever heard of.

And we gave them a demonstration of what resuscitating an alien might look like, and she liked it, so she invited, uh, a bunch of us down to the set of ET the next day.

So three or four of the doctors who worked there and a handful of nurses all went down, and they, they dressed us up in hazmat suits and we were all the extras in the ET resuscitation scene.

And they had us basically, th- that all the medical stuff was just ad lib on our part.

They asked us to just carry on shouting out the orders and doing the things we would do if we were actually resuscitating someone.

So, uh, so you know, I got to pump on little ET's chest and, and, uh, if you ever re-watch that movie, I, um, you can see me in it for about a nanosecond when, uh, when the alarms go off because ET's heart has stopped.
