Um, but I have seen elements of people working together a little bit more, and I think it's also really interesting where you say if we're going for that majority of people who aren't engaged in, in the sports, how do we get them engaged? And one thing we often discuss on, um, this podcast is looking at the elite end.

And the one thing I thought that was interesting is I think, um, James Guy has joined, uh, one of your swim schools as an ambassador, which is really interesting to see.

And I think maybe that's an example of how can we tap into the, the, sort of the public's, um, thinking and, and the thoughts there.

Um, but it's interesting 'cause even at elite level, um, we saw we had the European Championships just gone and, and swimming itself unfortunately wasn't on the BBC.

It hasn't been for a little while now, whereas something like Athletics was.

So I think it's all part of the, the bigger picture of where does everything fit in, how does it all work together? And I just thought it was really interesting to see that the approach there with, with sort of working with James Guy, as you mentioned, Tom working, having his own swim school there as well, seeing how things can work together.

And actually, if you need someone who's, you know, with, with their medals, who's done some great stuff in sort of the Olympics and things like that, if that gets people in the water and engaged, then brilliant.

That's maybe one way to do it.

Well, Maddie started to talk about the BBC, and BBC sportscaster Claire Balding's accidental double entendre at the Tokyo Games deserves a gold medal of its own.

Balding was interviewing British swimmers Tom Dean and Matthew Richards about their victory in the 4x200m freestyle relay with teammates James Guy and Duncan Scott when she said, Matt, You're 18 years old, it's your first Olympics, and you swam.

Honestly, your third leg was just phenomenal.

Balding was referring to Richard's swimming skills.

Um, interestingly enough, actually, um, a bit of swimming gossip and chat for you.

Where my wonderful wife works, um, Anna at Sky, and I think I told you, so I'm not gonna ask you to guess, but lo and behold, the guest speaker was, um, Olympic champion, world champion, world record holder, freestyle expert, uh, ex-butterfly expert, James Guy himself, um, turned up at, uh, yeah, Anna's corporate event.

Which is quite funny because she messaged me and said, "My goodness, you're not gonna believe who's just turned up." And I said, "Who?" She said, "James Guy." I said, "Well, go and speak to him.

Go and speak to him." And, um, Anna was, um, she was, she was nervous, um, and she actually doubted that James would know, A, who I am, B, who you are, because I'm sure you came up, and C, of course, and most importantly, about the podcast.

He's been on the blooming podcast.

He represented Team GB at three Olympic games, from Rio to Tokyo and Paris, helping Britain make history by defending their four times 200 meter freestyle relay title in 2024.

Freya Colbert with a really nice swim there in the women's 200 freestyle, um, which I think is probably playing a part in why the, the women's four by two, um, is going from strength to strength and I know that's something that we're, we're going to ask Luke Guy about.

Um, and we'll definitely be asking him about his brother James's swim as well, 'cause that was, was very impressive.

Um, so yeah, some, some really strong swims across the board.

Luke, were there any of the, um, relay teams and the relay swims that really, um, caught your eye? Because it seems to me as though the relays are such good fun, and we seem to be getting more and more relay events.

It would be remiss of us not to mention, uh, your brother James's swim, um, in, yeah, the men's 200 freestyle individual, uh, where he joined I think it was the 1:44 club for the first time.
