James Gregory

So '97 I finally said, "You know what? I'm gonna try this, and if nothing else, I'll have a back-of-the-room sales.

I'll have this CD that I can sell in the back of the room." And there was a comic by the name of James Gregory, very, very funny guy from back east.

And he goes, "Michael, I bought my mom a, her house with my back-of-the-room sales.

You need to come up with something."

Yep

... um, uh, like James Gregory, who, who, uh, if, if, if anyone, uh, if you wanna see someone, he's passed away now, he passed away a couple years ago, but, uh, uh, if you wanna see a great Southern, a guy that would be like your uncle telling good Southern stories, just look on YouTube for James Gregory.

Yeah.

And he had a sa- he had a pretty similar look.

And that's what kind of drove me to really pursue stand-up.

right i love that i mean and this is part one of course for those of you watching and listening part two we're going to talk about a lot of the parallels between wrestling professional wrestling and stand-up comedy but so uh i love this um you know watching the late night talk shows and this is sort of clicked uh you know something for you back in the day and then like you met this um You met James Gregory and that sort of got another click for you.
