James Gordon Lindsay

I, I don't know that I know as much about the manifested sons of God, um, theory and teaching historically as you do or as other people do, but I definitely know, um, intimately exactly what Dr. Freeman believed about it, and maybe more doctrinally and theologically, and you can help fill in when we get to that point where some of this came from, um, historically.

Although we've already seen through Dr. Freeman's connections with, um, Gordon Lindsay and William Branham and, and, um, all the people he referenced, um, from his early days in Pentecost himself, which date to 1966.

We know that there was a big, um, manifested sons God, uh, uh, manifested sons of God background to all of that.

Um, he had a lot of teaching about overcomers, was a favorite term of his.

He, he has the risk of being the prophet.

I get to be Gordon Lindsay.

I just teach.

But in that case, I had to hear God.

So when we're focusing on what's wrong with the non-denominational, the biggest risk for me is them not being self-aware enough to realize what weak spots they have.

So anyone in a Lutheran church, we're very aware that towards the end of his life, Martin Luther wrote some very frankly anti-Semitic things we know what he wrote I haven't actually read him I haven't read very much Martin Luther at all but we know it's there but the problem with a non-denominational church is they're just not going to know or remember the links that go back to Paul Cain and William Branham and Gordon Lindsay and all of these names which helpfully for me have been drilled into my mind they're not going to know the prophetic history one might say So it becomes very difficult to track what went wrong because when you're trying to fix something, particularly in IT, you go to the code.

You can show me your root code.

You did control A, control V, control C.

That can be denominated.

It can be named.

It can be traced back to Paul Kane, William Branham, Gordon Lindsay, Charles Parham.

But what I would like to rein you in on So that's the interesting part.

He now started trying to teach, trying to teach, trying to teach.

Prior to that, I think it was Gordon Lindsay that would teach prior to his meetings.

Gordon Lindsay would teach, then William Burnham would come, prophesy and heal.

But he noticed that now our season is coming to a close.

It doesn't mean that when the season is coming to a close, you are becoming irrelevant.

But as I have said, I think Hobart was fascinated himself with gimmicks and tricks.

It wasn't really that way in the seminary, but when he got hooked up with Gordon Lindsay and Kenneth Hagen, I mean, Hagen's telling stories of going to hell and coming back.

And we know, according to the Bible, there's a great goal fixed.

And once you get to hell, you're not coming back.

You can look and see Branham.

You can see Gordon Lindsay.

There are key faces to put into that.

But the Charismatic Networks is different in that there are just simply too many faces.

It was not a healing, a prophecy, a gifts of the Holy Spirit seminar, although those things were all obviously discussed.

Gordon Lindsay had advertised it as a deliverance seminar because this whole topic of Christians and deliverance and can a Christian have a demon and does a Christian need deliverance? This was nothing new with Hobart Freeman by any means.

This had been going on for years prior to that, you know, for all of the first 50 years of the 20th century, at least, and maybe earlier, I don't know.

But by the mid- 1900s and the second half from 1950 to 2000, this was and has been a huge issue.

He had five basic revelations, and once he preached his fifth sermon, he repeated them and repeated the, them again.

And by the time I got to the end of the first year, I was frustrated, because I'm kinda like a student of the Word, and I was a student of Derek Prince and Gordon Lindsay.

And as you know, I prayed for wisdom, and part of wisdom was read the wise writings of other ins- other teachers.

And so I was consuming books, and a strange thing was happening.

The man was a hardcore racist, anti-Semite, very much connected to the origins and the spread of identity theology.

And then another central figure here would be Gordon Lindsay.

Gordon Lindsay parted ways with William Branham because his anti-Semitism and, and racism just became too extreme.

But he founded a school not far from me in Dallas called Christ for the Nations Institute.

Christ for the Nations Institute is where Dutch Sheets studied.

He was not the sole person in charge of organizing it, but he was a very significant figure.

And also, this individual who, about a year ago last summer, assassinated a congresswoman and her husband in Minnesota, also came out of Christ for the Nations Institute.
