Andrew GarrisonGUEST
18:44
And Marcus Burton had two, at least two moments like this.
Andrew GarrisonGUEST
18:48
And again, he defended who seems to be Butler's best guard in Jalen Jackson very, very well.
Andrew GarrisonGUEST
18:53
He was sticking right by him.
Andrew GarrisonGUEST
18:55
Uh, he had a height disadvantage, Mart- Burton did, but he still was getting good shot contests up.
DaltonHOST
32:36
Who is still available? I'm going to see if Jalen was available.
DaltonHOST
32:38
Jalen Jackson? Yeah.
DaltonHOST
32:40
I was contemplating Jalen in the fourth round.
DaltonHOST
32:42
I love Mason Bigman and I think he's going to be interesting in Utah.
DaltonHOST
33:05
Who was still available? I was trying to see if Jalen was available.
DaltonHOST
33:07
Jalen Jackson? Yeah.
DaltonHOST
33:09
I was contemplating Jalen in the fourth round.
DaltonHOST
33:10
I love Mason Bigman and I think he's going to be interesting in Utah.
Paul FritschnerGUEST
33:11
I was out at Hinkle Fieldhouse to interview Ronald Norred.
Paul FritschnerGUEST
33:14
The one thing I talked to him about was, you know, it's so important you bring back your point guard in Jalen Jackson.
Paul FritschnerGUEST
33:20
You bring back your big man in Drayton Jones.
Paul FritschnerGUEST
33:23
So you start there, your anchors.

Greg PetersonHOST
42:43
So let's dive in with my projected order finish for the Big East.
Greg PetersonHOST
42:46
At number 11 in my projected order finish for the Big East, I'm going to be going with Butler.
Greg PetersonHOST
42:51
For Butler, I love the fact that they bring in Ronald Norred as their new coach and for butler they do bring back jalen jackson a guy who he was really good over at fort wayne a few seasons ago but just dealt with so much injury last season they're going to be really banking on guys that i don't know if they're able to play at this level drayden jones was able to give the team a bit of something something down low last year six half points he was able to pull in their darn near five rebounds per game so that's relatively solid but that said you're relying upon a lot of unknowns and just with butler i don't necessarily think that this is going to be a bad team but When you're lying upon Simon Calderon, who was over at Kansas last year, he really did not see the floor for them at 6'10", or 6'8", I should say.
Greg PetersonHOST
43:32
And you've got so many of these teams, like Providence, like Xavier, like Marquette, that hit the transfer portal.
JoshUNKNOWN
38:30
but if he's just got a knack for this, then that's the foundation of it going better in year one than, than people expect.
JoshUNKNOWN
38:38
And I think getting Jalen Jackson back is a bigger deal than, than people might think.
JoshUNKNOWN
38:45
That was a good Butler team that beat Virginia.
JoshUNKNOWN
38:48
Virginia, one of their six losses last year was to a healthy Butler team on a neutral court, and, um-
JoshUNKNOWN
38:54
they were completely different before he went down.
JoshUNKNOWN
38:56
But there's a ton of new names, and on most nights against high major opponents they're going to have a, a talent deficiency against whoever they're playing.
Matt NorlanderHOST
39:07
Jalen Jackson will be an important piece there.
Matt NorlanderHOST
39:09
Um, yeah, we'll see.
Ron NoredSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
38:33
From our guards, specifically, we were looking to find competitors, guys that really compete at a high level.
Ron NoredSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
38:40
And to have Jalen Jackson come back, to have Eduardo Kraft, who's transferring from Ole Miss, who is maybe one of the most competitive guys I've ever been around.
Ron NoredSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
38:49
Jordan Ellerby, watching him on film and watching the way he competed at Florida Gulf Coast.
Ron NoredSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
38:53
And then Samuel Adler, who... was down 1-3 in the finish finals, wins three games in a row and 32 in the finals.
Matt NorlanderHOST
6:31
Not allowed.
Ronald NoredGUEST
6:32
I, I think number one is, is, uh, Jalen Jackson-
Matt NorlanderHOST
6:35
Okay
Ronald NoredGUEST
6:35
... um, our returning point guard.
Will WarrenHOST
74:54
This is year zero for Ronald Norend.
Will WarrenHOST
74:57
So you have Jalen Jackson back, which is great.
Will WarrenHOST
75:01
You have Drayton Jones back, who we mentioned was a really good rebounder, if nothing else.
Will WarrenHOST
75:06
Uh, that might be about it.
Michael DeRosaGUEST
107:09
Like, that is because they're not very talented.
Michael DeRosaGUEST
107:12
If there is another possession in the world where your starting point guard, who is the guy you are paying the most on this roster, Jalen Jackson, is in the back court complaining for a foul call, doing this to the ref while his man goes down and scores a basket, and he is not pulled the second that happens, I'm going to go, I can't cuss, ape you know what.
Michael DeRosaGUEST
107:30
I'm going to lose my ever-loving mind, and it might get me fired from my job.
Michael DeRosaGUEST
107:34
That can't happen.
Michael DeRosaGUEST
107:35
It drove me insane.
Michael DeRosaGUEST
107:37
He, Jalen Jackson is the reason Butler lost the SMU game, which ended up pretty much being the beginning of the end for their season.
Michael DeRosaGUEST
107:43
He was in the back court crying for three, four possessions at a time while Boopy Miller was going down and scoring.
Michael DeRosaGUEST
107:49
It was unfathomable.
Paul FritschnerHOST
9:10
On the player's side, you bring back a couple of really important pieces from last year's team.
Paul FritschnerHOST
9:15
Jalen Jackson obviously got hurt, missed a large portion of the season, but starting point guard, Drayton Jones started all 32 games for the Bulldogs last season.
Paul FritschnerHOST
9:22
So building around those two cornerstones, how easy was it first to retain them? And then two, once you got them, how did you want to build around them? Yeah, easy to retain.
Paul FritschnerHOST
9:34
There was so much going on.
