Jakob Fuglsang

But this was also happening in November, so most teams are already set for next year by then, and by December they had all said no, so I went back to focusing on my work and not training and getting ready for the ski season.

Then when I was at a Schemo race in Innsbruck, I got a call inviting me to a training camp in Spain with NSN next week because now Jakob Fuglsang was going to retire and now there was an open spot and this camp was going to be like a tryout.

This was now in February, 2025.

So I hadn't been riding my bike.

But if you look back prior to his string of victories, with respect to those fabulous climbers who've won the race, I don't know why.

It's Thibaut Pinot, Dan Martin, Jakob Fuglsang, Vincenzo Nibali, those kind of riders.

They've all been tremendous riders, but it just, for some reason, yeah, you're right.

It didn't used to punch through anything like the same way as the other Monument Classics.
