Jake Trotter

[upbeat music] This is The Next Level with Emmet Golden and Jerod Cherry on 850 ESPN Cleveland.

Time for us to head out to the hotline, bring in Jake, Jake Trotter.

He covers ES- uh, covers college sports for ESPN, hosts ESPN Cleveland Primetime with Chris Sudak, following every Browns football game.

Jake, uh, how surprised were you that not only the Browns lost, but how they lost?

We appreciate you making some time for us today.

See you, guys.

There he is, Jake Trotter again.

He covers, uh, college football for-

After the game, Chris Oläk, Andre Knight, Gardos all the time, and then myself and Q Myers following them.

Forged Raid Cherry, RJ the Movie Critic, Nick Paulus, and Jake Trotter.

I'm Emma Golden saying until next time, we'll see you when we see you.

[gentle music]

...

I don't know what happened at your house, and Chris, uh, here at the studio where you were watching with Jake before the post-game show, but in my house, when Boston catches the touchdown pass, Stella is just going nuts, bouncing off the walls.

Le-

Because Watson did not play, the whole offense did not play well up, up until then.

And they scored and won.

And Oklahoma pulled the upset at the Texas State Fair.

Jake Trotter told us, "Throw the records out with that game."

Yep.

We head out to the ESPN Cleveland hotline where we find ESPN Cleveland teammate and ESPN senior college school writer Jake Trotter.

Jake, we've kind of been talking about tune-up versus trap game.

How do you see the Ohio State approaching this one today?

So it's probably going to be the three guys we've talked about.

And the guy, again, the guy that, that, you know, averages 12, 15 yards per rush in a game is probably going to be the guy that gets what you're looking for, Kevin, which is the bulk of the work and the, you know, in the coming weeks.

Senior college football writer Jake Trotter joins us as well as ESPN Cleveland teammate here for us.

Well, we know a guy that they can't live without, and that's Jeremiah Smith.

Jeremiah, Joel Klatt was on his podcast a little bit earlier, and he had talked about how, like, Jeremiah Smith is getting into that range of possibly being the greatest Buckeye of all time.

Yep, absolutely.

Jake Trotter, who is, lives out there in Olmsted Falls, uh, was wearing an-

Of course he does

...

Olmsted Falls youth football shirt today.

Um, you know, they each said that the other person during the, uh, during Jake Trotter's hit every week, every Friday at 9:30 on the RBS, one of them has to wear the opposing school's, like, sweatshirt, hoodie, something like that, uh, gear next week.

Right now, Berea-Midpark has the lead 23 to 21, as Dale just told you just a couple minutes ago.

Also at halftime, Hawken has a 21 to seven lead against Jefferson Area.

So he's definitely going to be a long week of practice for the Hoban guys.

Yeah, real quick, just throwing in another score here as there is a friendly little wager going on between Tony Rizzo, host of the really big show on the Tony Rizzo Show, and Jake Trotter, ESPN senior college football writer and teammate here at ESPN Cleveland.

Olmstead Falls takes a 42-38 lead with 19 seconds left to go.

Uh, it was Papa shock to Alexander for Bria mid park to give them the lead with a minute to go and less than a minute.
