And sort of, like, you know understands that justice is kind of separate from the police system but also like ultimately that maybe that's the best thing we got like it's he's you know um but the book is connelly's a lousy pro stylist i think at least in terms of what he just like says okay i'm done let's let's print it like i don't know if he if he gave it more than a month would it come out better he'll there's no subtext there's no even like he doesn't really let you like make inferences as a reader he'll like tell you why people are saying things and he said this to make her think about what happened before like yeah I know but the book is like it's certainly shaggier and has more like kind of dead ends probably because he's imagining you reading it on a long flight or like on a beach vacation and It's much more like it delves into the guilt and the I'm the reason this woman is dead.

That hangs much more heavily over all of the the.

scenes in the book um and i would say compared to the book in the movie basically everyone is doing a clint like everyone is sort of like a gruff cool one-liner character even like graciella um arango the the paul rodriguez character um everybody except jeff dangles is kind of i think doing like a variation of the the clint persona in the book they're they're all They vary a little bit, but they're all mostly kind of like flat, you know, people saying exactly what they're thinking.

But the grassy yellow character is like much softer and like the, she's, I mean, McCaleb is Connelly's wife's maiden name.
