When did you first join a union or become invested in union organizing? When did you become interested in education and so on? So Jake, let's start with you.

I've been teaching in LAUSD for the last nine years, been in education for about 11 years.

I came into union organizing in the way that a lot of people in LAUSD do, which is we inherit this, like, amazing labor organization, the second-largest of its kind, second-largest teacher union in the country.

And I joined LAUSD officially as a teacher when I was in the 2018, 2019 school year around the time of our major strike, which I'm sure we'll hear more about from Katie as well later on.
