Mm-hmm.

Right? So they've issued warrants against Yoav Gallant and Benjamin Netanyahu, and possibly are going to be issuing them against Smotrich and Ben-Gvir, um, though they haven't come down yet.

But they really only have the capacity and the mandate to go after those, quote-unquote, "most responsible." But, you know, even if one of those guys authors a policy of genocide or torture in the ca- or both in the case of Ben-Gvir, right? Soldiers and cops and prison guards are the ones carrying it out, and all of these people are committing international crimes as well.

And so every state, by virtue of being a member of, or a state party to the Geneva Convention, the Genocide Convention, Convention Against Torture, what have you, has an international legal obligation to exercise jurisdiction over war criminals in, in their midst.

And they also have the legal tools to do so.

Almost every one of these states has, um, written into their criminal code something that incorporates the Geneva Convention, Convention Against Torture, Rome Statute, um, which is the statute for the International Criminal Court, and the Genocide Convention.

So what we do is we figure out who these soldiers are, figure out where they served, when they served, what they did, and on that basis, draw up, uh, a big file of evidence and legal arguments explaining the crimes and the jurisdiction, and work with lawyers in the relevant jurisdictions to pass those off to prosecutors and say, "You need to prosecute these people because they're coming to your, to your state," or they're a dual national.

Yeah.

Okay.

So that he could avoid accountability.

Um, and then, you know, when the, when the genocide started, uh, they, Diyab and, and his colleagues wanted to kind of restart the legal strategy.

Um, and so they started, um, the Hind Rajab Foundation, which is named after, uh, Hind Rajab, who as many listeners will probably remember, uh, was a six-year-old girl who was murdered along with, um, members of her family, uh, in late January 2024, uh, as they were driving, uh, south.

They were fleeing Northern Gaza after one of the numerous evacuation orders.

Uh, their car came under fire from, uh, I believe an Israeli tank, and, um, the, it was just sprayed with like 300 something bullets.

Uh, it killed, uh, the family members that she was with and ultimately it was just her alone in the car, begging for help over the phone.

Yeah.
