Jake Kasdan

... before they become the, what they would become?

I, you know, I think, you know, everyone who was picking the cast there, Allison Jones, the casting director, and Paul Feig and Jake Kasdan, our directing producer, like, you know, there were people that they were pushing y- you know, and all I was saying was like, "Yeah, I, I agree, uh, you know, with that instinct." You know, people like Busy Philipps came in for the lead, and then Paul was like, "I think that she's more appropriate to this other idea of, of this girl who kind of terrorizes everybody." You know, so there was all this shuffling going on.

But the main instinct I had, uh, was why don't we cast it with the best people and then have Paul rewrite the script based on who they are? Let's not force them to just become the character.

Let's use who they are, and so it can change a little bit.

The movie they had been working together for a couple of years.

And and Jake Kasdan directed the pilot.

Jake Kasdan directed the grinder.

Yeah.

By the way, can we talk about The Grinder for two seconds? First of all, Jared Paul, who created The Grinder, is a good friend of ours.

[laughs] I love Silverado.

Or Jake Kasdan.

[laughs] Jake...

It's, is Empire Strikes Back Jake Kasdan's Empire Strikes Back? [laughs] Uh, oh, you're saying Jake Kasdan.

Is his Empire Strikes Back? [laughs]

[laughs]

Didn't he...

What did he do? Did he, did he, did he direct Red One?

Did he? Did he get that same? There's no way I remember it because everybody else got something that made sense and they all looked their best version of themselves in their photos that were framed.

I think it was from Liz, Dave, Brett, Jake Kasdan.

Y'all gave us these gifts.

Very thoughtful.
