I saw the trailer for Remain, which is a new Shyamalan movie, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Phoebe Dynevor, and it's like, it's a story by M.

Night Shyamalan and Nicholas Sparks, and weirdly, that seems-

It's literally that, I fall in love with dead people.

So you've got Jake Gyllenhaal, who's kind of this architect, and he's moved to Cape Cod after, [laughs] the logline says, "After leaving a psychiatric facility." I wonder if that sentence is gonna prove important.

And while he's staying at this kind of B&B, he meets a mysterious woman who, as the trailer leads us to believe, may or may not be, you know, alive.

[laughs]

All I could think about was Jake Gyllenhaal-

[laughs]

... running around Robin Banks' ambulance.

I'm not into that.

I, I just saw a horrible movie, uh, last week, which was, uh, Jake Gyllenhaal-

B- by the way, I saw, um, I saw there's another Jake Gyllenhaal movie that's coming out, and it's a shame that I'll never see it.

I was gonna say, i- it's actually great for you, 'cause it's one less movie you have to worry about seeing.

I was going to say the setup for this is like, it's Jake Gyllenhaal is dating this younger woman and they seem to have a really just in, in, intense but not like intensely passionate it's like an intensely just a really strong connection and they and it's built around them playing all these board games all the time um and they both seem to be kind of homebodies uh and then it kind of abruptly gets creepy and it starts to seem like she's haunting him and perhaps she is dead or has been a ghost the whole time or i don't know It gets all Shyamalan.

It's Nicholas Sparks, who, if you're not familiar, you wrote The Notebook, among other things.

yeah damn Yeah, there's some ones out there.

But Remain is the name of this film again with Jake Gyllenhaal.

I think we've already broken our vow to talk about only eight movies exactly.

But there is, like, a lot of politics and stuff kind of ingrained in it that I think just went over my head the first time.

And, yeah, so Fear Road, I gave it a 4.5. Rewatch Prisoners, 5-star, Denis Villeneuve, Banger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Hugh Jackman, Crime Thriller.
