And so AI has been around for a very long time.

And then AI's application to education started in the late 60s when Jaime Carbonell created a system called Scholar that could interact with people about geography and teach them geography.

So it's just got an amazing history.

And yeah, so I started thinking about it in the late 90s when I went to the University of Pittsburgh And the part that frustrates me now is that in the popular discussion around AI in education, there is often an implicit assumption that this is new, that this is just starting.
