Sacinandana SwamiHOST

KavichandraGUEST

So in the Rathayatra, Lord Chaitanya was completely in the mood of Radharani and Jagannatha's Krishna.
KavichandraGUEST

They were, as Samasundar points out, he used his $250,000 education at Reed College.
Vaisesika DasaHOST

He said, I finally used part of it, the mathematics part, to figure out how to carve Jagannath Swami, Baladeva, and Subhadra.
Vaisesika DasaHOST
31:09
But as he was carving, Prabhupada was a few blocks away from his apartment, and Samasundar was trying to go slow so that Prabhupada wouldn't leave and go back to New York.
Vaisesika DasaHOST
31:20
Because he knew he wouldn't leave until Jagannath was done.
Vaisesika DasaHOST
31:23
But one day, Prabhupada showed up at his apartment.
Vaisesika DasaHOST
31:27
And...

Purport, King Prataparujya recited this verse to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu during Lord Jagannath's Rathayatra festival.
Vaisesika DasaHOST

While the Lord was resting in a garden, King Prataparujya humbly entered and began massaging his legs and lotus feet.
Vaisesika DasaHOST

Then the king recited the 31st chapter of the 10th canto of Srimad Bhagavatam, the Songs of the Gopis.

So that's why what Bhaktivinoda Thakur, all of you have heard Bhaktivinoda Thakur's name? So Bhaktivinoda Thakur is a great teacher, he was in India around that time when the British were there and all of these things were going on So what he has considered is a connection point between tradition and modernity so what he did is he took the tradition of the Bhagavatam he took the modern kind of critiques that were there by scholars and by colonialists and others and what he did was he represented the Bhagavatam, Krishna according to tradition without compromising but in a language that was understandable to the people of that time and Bhaktivinoda Thakur is the one who said that the demons in Krishna's pastimes all represent an anartha or a difficulty or an obstacle that each one of us internally have that's very powerful So Bhaktivinoda Thakur explained that each of the demons that Krishna kills in Vrindavan represents an internal block an obstacle a bad quality or a bad mentality that each one of us harbour within our hearts and just as Krishna kills the demons if we kill the demons of these blocks then love will flow see like love is already flowing in your heart but the problem is it's blocked So like imagine you have like a pipe and there's loads of holes in the pipe then the water can gush through but by the end there's nothing because everything has escaped out of the pipe So we have this rush of love but then what we also have is all these blocks or anarthas and therefore the force of that love is basically reduced So that sometimes if we're honest we come in front of Jagannath and we think I just don't have any love We look around at everyone else.
Keshava MaharajaHOST
20:52
Everyone else is dancing in ecstasy.
Keshava MaharajaHOST
20:55
So we kind of dance and we're in ecstasy.

Hare Krishna Maharaj.

Thank you so much for the wonderful and thoughtful provoking Maharaj, I just want to ask, sometimes we have some questions in our heart and we cannot approach to our Guru directly because they are not available.
speaker_4UNKNOWN
51:16
Then I heard from the lecture or got some instruction from some devotees that we can come to Jagannath or in our heart like we are connected with the Paramatma so we can put those questions and then Maharaj we got some answers like and then how can we verify that these questions are basically coming from Paramatma or it is just my mind is giving me some make up things
Keshava MaharajaHOST
51:47
The beginning of Chaitanya Charitamrita begins with a verse Vande Gurun But the very first line is the most important Plural I offer my respects to all of my Gurus In other words, the moment you accept a Diksha Guru, make sure you also have Shiksha Gurus in your life.
Dhanurdhara SwamiHOST
10:48
Then from that, he begins to describe this consciousness of those people who actually can have that intense relationship with Krishna in the form of his deities, as we see with the six Goswamis who established deities.
Dhanurdhara SwamiHOST
11:08
Lord Chaitanya, who carved the deity of Lord Jagannath when he went to Sri Rangam.
Dhanurdhara SwamiHOST
11:17
how important it is to worship the form of the person whose name you're chanting to help you get that sambandha, that relationship, which is the foundation of absorption, which makes any type of yoga, the efficacy of that practice of yoga is the absorption.
Dhanurdhara SwamiHOST
11:48
And in bhakti, when there's absorption, you're not only negating the impulses that come from the false ego, but you're starting to feel, because that's love, when there's focus and attention, you're starting to feel the reciprocation of God in the form of his name.
