Now, related, in episode 320, I shared with y'all about California's fightin' 42nd District and, uh, Representative Jackie Irwin's bill, Assembly Bill 2426, that in short said that if a publisher charges a one-time fee for a game, not a monthly subscription for access, and not a game that's accessible for free, and the publisher can revoke your access to the game after you've already bought it- Then, and I'll quote, quote, "It shall be unlawful for a seller of a digital good to advertise or offer for sale a digital good to a purchaser with the terms buy, purchase, or any other term which a reasonable person would understand to confer an unrestricted ownership interest in the digital good." End quote.

And, uh, spelling that fa- and, and, you know, there's some more legalese, but they do specifically say that spelling that out for you, that you in fact don't own the thing, isn't something that you can bury in your end user license agreement to get around the requirement.

Now, this was law that was passed back when we talked about it in episode 320.

Sure, she's a state assembly member.

Her name is Jackie Irwin.

She has a Courage California score of F.

And really what that represents is that she does not vote in the interests of her constituents when the politics are easily conducive to do so.
