Jacob Wright

Norwich went early with theirs.

They brought on Jacob Wright and J'Ovhan McCarmer.

Obviously we all know the quality that J'Ovhan McCarmer's got.

I think every Boro fan in the stadium last season said, "Oh, I'd lo- love to sign him," after the, after the game.

I think it was from one of the Norwich substitutes it might have been.

Was it Magoma who sort of... you know, gets in the way, he nods it towards Jacob Wright, who just, you know, fair play to him, quickly turns and hits it into the roof of Borough's net, and in the blink of an eye, the 3-1 lead has gone, and it is 3-2, and you can't have any complaints, you know, it was that sort of a game, Borough could have been 4-5-1 up by that point, but then it's 3-0, and I'm not surprised because of the number of chances both teams created, and how open both teams were, But it was concerning second half, how Norwich were just able to just get at Borough time and time again, and how quickly they were able to play through our midfield and get at our defence.

And I'll be honest, I thought after that there was only one team who were probably going to win the game.

And if you look at the momentum here on foot mob, you can kind of see that there was a little bit more red first half than green, a little bit more green second half, especially towards the end.

I wonder what the Yellow Army think of this, because I was quite impressed.

And I've been impressed before with Jacob Wright in the 10, I have to say.

And I don't think this is shoehorning.

My bigger concern still, despite Clermont's robust defence of it, is if teams, particularly Cairo, come and camp.

and deny them a space deny them opportunities to get wide and get those wide players into the game what does that look like how can they deconstruct that and maybe that's a bigger conversation and maybe that involves a Mahova or a Jacob Wright or these Slomani if he can carry on in the vein he's he's showed in patches today so but it's a nice problem to have you know because you know I think they've shown also Stoke heavily possession based in Norwich's favour.

Lots of territory.

Today, less possession, but still as effective.

But there has been a lot of debate around him generally and around that position generally.

Paris McGurn was back but on the bench, didn't get on.

Jacob Wright came into there, so I guess we have to throw him into that mix as well.

That feels, even though it was a very good assist today, great flick, very deft flick from Slimani, that still feels like a position that is a little bit up for grabs in this Norwich City team.

backing them up, and then there's plenty of firepower off that bench as well.

You know, Cernak was a big signing, Viscard, and, you know, Jacob Wright in there was a big signing as well.

Yeah, for Norwich, it must be a huge, huge boost for them and a much needed one at that because they can't start this season like they started last season because it ruined their entire year because they were on an unbelievable run when Clement came in.

And, you know, if they'd started just a little bit better under Liam Manning, you'd think they probably would have been in the playoffs last year.

So many individual elements were really good within the overall collective and more of the same is required.

And then, of course, a second half where he can go to the bench and bring on Papa Jallo, Antti Cernac, Chris Gordon, Jacob Wright you know you compare and contrast that with points last season and it's night and day so yeah lots of positives just with maybe at the back of our heads remembering that it was against a very very poor Burnley so maybe best as we tried not to do post Millwall going too far the other way we won't go too far off I don't think in terms of optimistically overload but no a good repost to what was a very bad day at the office at Millwall.

And that's key obviously you boys were at Cardiff I wasn't there but this was the first championship return we'd seen and I think Shock is probably the best word.

I think we spoke about that a little bit last week in terms of didn't realise that that level of performance both individually and collectively last week was within this group because so much of what we've seen and the muscle memory that Philippe Clement has built up since his appointment has been positive and it's been productive and it's been efficient.

But beyond that, it is hard to suggest there'll be anything else to get excited about or fearful about.

I'm old enough to remember that January where we didn't think anything was going to happen.

Then there was rumblings about Jacob Wright and then it gathered pace.

So you can never say never, I suppose.
