US District Court Judge Timothy Kelly left without ruling today, but he could issue a decision any time now.

Also today, Donald Trump welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping to the United States for a three-day summit, though you won't see any pool video of them here during Trump's media ban.

This started in January of 2025, when the administration first offered about 2 million federal workers the option to resign while continuing to get full pay and benefits through September 30th.

Many of the workers targeted were very experienced and not political employees, meaning their work had absolutely nothing to do with who was in the White House.

If you recall, last year, my colleague Jacob Soboroff and I hosted a town hall where we spoke to a whole room of federal workers who were forced out by dues.

And I want you to listen to what one former FDA employee told us.

When asked if Mayor Karen Bass would endorse Gavin Newsom for president, Karen said, "I'm gonna be a Karen."

[laughs] Karen Bass sat down this weekend for an interview with Jacob Soboroff on his brand-new LA-based show on MS Now, and was asked if she would endorse Gavin Newsom for presi because that's what Gavin's been focused on lately.

And I don't think she expected the question, because we got a very honest response.

Karen Bass was asked about the homeless response in the capital of homeless that she is the mayor of, the city of Los Angeles.

Jacob Soboroff knows a little more than your traditional national reporter because he lives here.

So even though this is a cable news interview, there was some local substance to it and, uh, well, she doesn't come off great.
