And his frustration is justified because it's a solid enough effort, but obviously a decent save.

You mentioned the fact that after Jordan Abita's injury, which happens on half an hour pretty much, Hibs do... grow into the game having obviously got off to a bit of a sluggish start themselves a brace of chances in quick succession Nathan Lowe finds himself clean through on goal but was denied by a great Borough stop and then Jacob Devaney his shot from outside the box clips the crossbar on its way over and It's just about kind of keeping them at bay, isn't it, really? And just getting to, in this case, halftime.
A

But obviously something happens just before halftime.
A

But you don't want to immediately let them back into it.
A

But thankfully, we do what Nathan Lowe can't, and that was score goals.

And yeah, I thought they deserved to get 2-0 up.

obviously a big team talk at half-time for David Gray, made a couple of changes, two guys meeting at Edinburgh Derby's debuts were poor, Wright and Devaney both hooked at half-time, and then he brought Chaiwer on, I don't know why he didn't play Chaiwer, it was tailor-made for him this game.
T
37:35Tam McManusPANELIST
Devaney just looked as if the game had passed him by.
T
37:37Tam McManusPANELIST
I said that last week, it's a million miles an hour that game, and if you have no use to it, you get caught out.

First 15 minutes, Hibs get the goal, wonderful strike, and then you think to yourself, game on.
A

I kept saying to you, he should be playing in a forward position.

Why Hibs are interested in Danny Ings
J
7:29Jack HarrisHOST
But I remember him saying that it wasn't as if he sort of learned everything from Dwight Gale, but it's picking up tips and tricks there.
J
7:38Jack HarrisHOST
And then Jacob Devaney said the same sort of thing about having Bruno Fernandes.
J
7:42Jack HarrisHOST
It's having these players who have sort of seen a lot of the game and can give you just those little bits of advice.
J
7:49Jack HarrisHOST
Maybe it is dealing with pressure.

Jamie Gullen's another one.
P
15:27Patrick McPartlinHOST
He's played with them for years in the Hibs Academy, so there's maybe a little bit of Valakari thinking, well, they can link up again.
P
15:36Patrick McPartlinHOST
but he's just somebody who he will want to be playing regular football at this stage of his career I think it's I think he's got maybe a year left on his contract at Hibs not 100% sure on that so don't quote me but I think he probably does want to be playing more regularly he'll be looking at especially Callum Wright coming in he'll be looking at Owen Eldon playing that number 10 role Jacob Devaney even coming in and just sort of forcing a change of shape.
P
16:06Patrick McPartlinHOST
It's a bit difficult to see where he fits into this team from the start.

i mean some really good efforts as well i mean i sort of think of josh mulligan's um sort of curling attempt from i forget exactly when it was in the second half but you know there was one from jacob devaney in the first half as well i think he hits the corner of the woodwork you have good efforts but some of the bread and butter chances that are being passed up at the minute.
P
10:47Patrick McPartlinHOST
It's frustrating, it's really frustrating.
P
10:49Patrick McPartlinHOST
I mean, the one for me was Martin Boyle sort of intercepting that slack back pass and you just think that's what he does best is just sort of, you know, darting around, sort of leaping on chances like that.

It was a shame to see like Jacob Devaney obviously had a best on display on the weekend in Scotland.
A

But I understand the rationale, even though I always don't love the decisions being made.
A

I think it's with a long-term view.

Stephen Presley, after the game, said that Hibs did something tactically that caught us out and we couldn't quite get to grips with it.
C
3:55CraigGUEST
throughout the game so I think obviously there was a couple of things maybe certainly changing personnel and obviously you know Jacob Devaney playing and stuff like that he wouldn't have had any footer obviously he would have known what he was able to do at St Mirren but nothing recent but I think probably what he was alluding to was Like Dundee were very much a 4-2-3-1 in that shape, quite rigid.
C
4:17CraigGUEST
And I think probably when he's seen the line-up come out and saying, no, Adam Mayer, I think that probably would have been the first sort of surprise.
C
4:26CraigGUEST
But then seeing that there was McGrath, there was Wright, there was Boyle, and there was Lowe, all as a sort of front attacking line-up.
C
4:35CraigGUEST
And I think that's probably what caught...
C
4:38CraigGUEST
Dundee out especially in the beginning because they were a wee bit all over the place the press was all over the place and I think it was actually partly because of what we had in the front areas but also what Jacob Devaney's like what he brought to the middle of the park which then allowed Mulligan to do a little bit more and allowed Passlack to push a little bit higher so essentially we had low up the sort of he was just trying to occupy Astley and Bevan who were at centre half Boyle was on this side Wright was in this sort of left inside position but he did more than that it's a bit redundant to say that's all he did he did much more than that and then McGrath was out in a left wing back role and we spoke about last week how he played there you know he's had experience there before and he did brilliant out there when he has done but you sort of sometimes felt like it's a wee bit wasted having him out there when he could be doing so much more in the middle and What it allowed, obviously, Paslak, I think, committed and certainly played a lot higher.
C
5:37CraigGUEST
I had a quick look at Huddle and Statsbomb and certainly Paslak was really influential on that right side.
C
5:44CraigGUEST
I remember from last season how often, when you looked at the end of games, his average position was sometimes closer to the halfway line compared to, say, Nicky Caddins that would be up there.

J

I think he played for Manchester United, but he's loaned previously to St Mirren.
J

He's sort of a deep-lying midfielder and he wants to dictate the game.
