About 70 civilian aircraft mechanics employed by Strategic Technology Institute, STI, at Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina, have joined the IAM union through voluntary recognition.

A strong majority of the workers supported joining the IAM, leading STI to sign a voluntary recognition agreement recognizing the union as their exclusive collective bargaining representative.

The aircraft mechanics joined together to improve their working conditions and secure the protections, the benefits, and the voice that comes with a strong union contract.

Northside Jacksonville, a team that you guys used to see in the big Carolina, they're now in the coastal.

They're the number one team in our touchdown Friday top nine.

You're number one in one of the other stations' top nine.

I mean, the teams from the south have really kind of risen, haven't they?

They have.

You know, with Northside Jacksonville, I think about them being in that conference that we had a couple years ago, the SEC helped them out a lot.

I mean, now they're in a conference that's not so tough like ours was.
