I think it was a Jackson Hawes false start out of a timeout that put them in a tough spot.

And it wasn't maybe a legal shift by Skylar Bell.

It's like clean that up there.

Do you pride yourself on that? Because of some guys we had spoke about earlier with the position being sexier now with certain names in it with McBride and Bowers.

When I spoke with Jackson, he was like, dude, I love blocking and I pride myself on it.

Do you feel the same way?

Yeah.

It's meeting him, and who's going to win more? There's no way around it.

You've got to love that.

Jackson Hawes, he was a senior at Yale when I was a freshman.

So just following his story has been pretty cool.

These are just mental errors.

And the lack of a chip, I mean, it really frustrated me because you've got Jackson Hawes, who's been, you know, prided as the best blocking tight end in the sport, right? Everybody just keeps saying he's the best blocking tight end.

So why not let him help out your tackle who was dealing with an injury last week? Why not let him help him out with one of the most freaky pass rushers in the sport? That doesn't make sense to me.

But again, nothing ever makes sense with this football team.

very, very, very, very specific, and I could make this a whole rant segment if I wanted to.

I hate how this team gave Dawson Knox $20 million this offseason, and it pisses me off to no end.

I think this is another Brandon Bean – a middle line average player, big contract type of deal where, yeah, you can say the 13 personnel was a big part of this team last year, but why can't Jackson Hawes come in and do exactly what Dawson Knox is doing on a rookie contract? He had one reception this past week.

He has a salary cap hit this year of $8.5 million.

And, you know, the tight end group, you're not looking to make a trade when you think of the commitments that you've got to Dawson Knox with his contract.

Of course, the rookie deals with Dalton Kincaid and Jackson Hawes.

It's been a little underwhelming, I think, from the tight end group so far, even including someone like Hawes, right? A couple more penalties than you would like or expect.

The inconsistency with Dalton Kincaid so far, you know, some of that I think is just you have two phenomenal weeks at the beginning of the season.

Stop using Dawson Knox so much.

He's got to be in the doghouse by now.

Throw to the running backs.

Oh, the tight ends, tight ends.

I think I gave a C to Jackson Hawes, but I'll get into why on that later.

But still, he's a role player.

All of their big name guys, high snap guys, just good to great across the board.

So maybe that could open up reps.

But as long as the wide receiver room is the way it is right now, I would tend to think that Palmer might reassert himself as that fourth wide receiver as opposed to Skyler Bell getting those reps.

A tight end Jackson Hawes.

I mentioned him a little bit earlier.

I thought this was a terrific game for the tight ends blocking.

Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes, I know that I messed that up.

I said Spencer Hawes.

I've been on a good streak of not doing that.

But Jackson Hawes and Dawson Knox had some terrific run blocks in this game, impactful run blocks, combo blocking, getting to the second level, doing some really good things on Max Crosby, put him on the ground a couple of times.

Even Kincaid was involved.

I mean, these guys got after people in the run game, blocking like their life depended on it.

At tight end, Dalton Kincaid, 49.

And it was multiple times where it happened and it was like, he was wide open.

So I liked that because like when you have your thought process about getting all these extra guys involved, now you have to game plan for all the extra guys, right? Like, If you start throwing the ball to Ray Davis or Jackson Hawes or Dawson Knox or even Skylar Bell, like guys that aren't typically getting targets, now if they're on the field, the opposing defense has to look and say, oh, well, maybe the running back's going to leak out and maybe Jackson Hawes isn't going to be a blocker.

Maybe he's going to go and run a route or whatever.

Because I don't know, man.
