Jacklyn H. Lucas

Well, um, I was very interested in two people that really inspired me.

Jack Lucas and John Basilone are some of my, um, key contributors to, like, um, learning about being in the military and what it takes.

Um, John Basilone is one of those guys that I, I look at and go, you know, 'cause I used to play hockey, and it was a really big, uh, thing for me.

And w- knowing that he didn't wanna stay out of the fight and to go back into it, 'cause he wanted to be with his men in Iwo Jima, like I, I look at that as a hockey mentality type of thing, and it's, it's very, um, respectful to want to be with the boys.

Sitting out for any period of time playing hockey was some of the worst experiences I had, and seeing that was a very inspiring way to look at it that I could relate to.

Jack Lucas, another one guy, jumped on a grenade to save his men from being destroyed and his arm being blown off, and all he could think about was holding his wife when he got home.

So totally relatable to, like, anything of that nature.

So those are my two big guys that I really wanted to, um, really join, and I couldn't join because of my heart condition.
