Okay, so Kyle and Jackie O, as we know, they are no longer doing the Kiss FM breakfast for Sydney Radio and they have officially been replaced in...

It's been a long time coming because they didn't really know who they were going to get replaced by.

And the replacement is Chris Brown, Amy, I can't remember her name.

So, um, yes, all the moves happen, but also I think, you know, the moves give you perspective, and your perspective is why I've asked you to come on the podcast today because I read a great piece on Radio Info that you wrote, uh, in the wake of the announcement about Dr Chris Brown, Amy Gerard, and Jack Charles.

Now, for, for most of the world, they're, quote unquote, "taking over" from Kyle and Jackie O, but for most of this year, um, they haven't had Kyle and Jack.

They've had, uh, effectively a fill-in show, albeit those people have been doing a good job to maintain as much audience as they can.

Now, the article was headed, um, The Reason Why They'll Fail, and of course that's a good attention-grabbing headline.

... is, is another perfect example of, of two people who, um, appear to have great chemistry and do have great chemistry, but they don't always agree, um, w-with, with each other, and that creates it.

And it's not manufactured.

You know, I've worked with Jonesy and Amanda at ARN, and, um, uh, an extremely talented duo with genuine chemistry, and Kyle and Jackie O had the same thing.

Do you think that if they were putting this show together and they've obviously got them in a room, I think hotel rooms were mentioned rather than studios, uh, got them all together and they're listening to them talk about topics and, and listening to the banter, do you think what programmers, and knowing a lot of programmers around the world listen to this podcast, do you think programmers need to provoke or push them in a direction to try and find what that is in the casting process? So say for example, you know, they've, they've put the three of them in the room and, and as we know, it's, it's sometimes bit part magic, bit part science.

Can I just say, look, from a technical perspective, I think some upside for ARN is the ad scheduling's gonna be a whole lot cleaner.

So ARN are gonna be looking to avoid the chaos that was regularly caused by Kyle and Jackie O going rogue when they just roll over ad breaks or they'd run-

Um, Will and Woody, brand safe.

Some of them you'd go, they're not as adventurous as Kyle and Jackie O, but no one was.

So it's not necessarily a case of trying to find a replacement.

I think it actually probably gives them a dimension they haven't had before, which is how do we get the biggest possible names and make sure that we don't have the mad witches after us, for one, and make sure we don't have content that leads us astray.
