Jack Viney

They've bolstered their list with experience.

Liam Baker, Jack Graham, Brandon Stasevich, and now Jack Viney and Trent Rivers have all been brought in over the last three off-seasons.

But they will shift the needle furthest by nailing their first pick this year and bringing in another high-quality teenager to play alongside Harley Reid, Willem Dersmer, Cooper Duff-Teitler, and players of that ilk.

Melbourne.

Who left? Jack Viney and Trent Rivers.

Where'd they go? Straight to West Coast.

Over you go, boys.

Get a work on the tan.

Yeah.

Look, Jack Viney would be pretty handy for you.

He adds a bit of grunt.

And Damo and Schmookie ran the rule over this earlier in the week.

So, of course, they brought in Jack Viney and Trent Rithers.

They had a little bit of a sniff around Brian Myers and trying to get him.

Chad Warner looms here as someone who's on the horizon for the Eagles.

But with the players they've got, I mean, they've got a couple of number one draft picks in their team.

They've got Cooper Duff Titler, who will be another year, bigger, stronger, faster, fitter, all the rest of it.

Um, they bring in Jack Viney and Trent Rivers.

I feel like Rivers will be a really handy inclusion into that team and another year of cohesion under Andrew McWalter.

I think the biggest factor that altered that was, uh, the introduction of Stephen King as the coach, um, who took a lot of, uh, the players that we had and turned them in- created-- put, put them into different roles, uh, trained them differently.

Um, I would've thought that as a club we, uh, lost, uh, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver, and Jack Viney was injured at a very early stage.

Um, so there's three of your main midfielders missing from the start of the season, so the expectations weren't, weren't very high.

The three premiership midfielders- [chuckles] ... pretty much.

And earlier in the year, um, in May, we had, uh, Shane McAdam and Tom Campbell both, uh, forced into retirement as a result of injuries.

The club, uh, at the end of the year made the decision to delist Jack Henderson, Aidan Johnson, Andy Menees-Wakefield, Riley Onley, and Kalani White, uh, as the list overhaul continued.

And finally, perhaps the two most significant and emotional departures came in the dying minutes of last week's trade period when, uh, premiership heroes Jack Viney and Trent Rivers were traded to the West Coast Eagles.

Viney, in particular, has been such an enormous part of the football club for so long, and to see him finish, uh, um, his career in another jumper is certainly going to take some getting used to.
