Well, moving on, and one of Britain's most prolific screenwriters has accused some of his own colleagues of cheating.

Jack Thorne, writer of adolescence and president of the Writers Guild of Great Britain, used a lecture this week at the Southbank Centre to say he's heard from execs and from writers close to him that some in his profession are using AI to write scripts and passing off the work as their own.

Does it matter? Yes.

It's so funny that, because there are so, like, you look at the guys today, like Joe Barton or Jack Thorne.

They've written, is it on? They wrote it.

And you go like, the new Joe Barton.

Jack Thorne is the writer.

He's also the guy who wrote Adolescence and wrote the stage version of The Cursed Child.

He's done a lot of things.

Well, what's on the horizon for you? What's upcoming that you can tell us about, if anything?

Well, you know, so I'm doing, we're still waiting for the rights to come in, but I'm doing Jack Thorne's Afterlife at the university in February.

So it's based on a film.

It's a text based on a film, but it's very much a play about folks in the sort of immediately after death waiting room you know and it's quite lovely quite poignant um and so i'm doing that and then following that up with anosha rani's uh behind the moon at prairie theater exchange and then it looks like there will be a project at shakespeare in the ruins next spring but i can't talk about that yet
