Hugh WoozencroftHOST
17:35
In terms of the game itself, did it feel like a new low or was it the same trend as the previous five defeats or maybe all defeats that you've seen this season? Is there a common theme?
Connor SouthwellGUEST
17:47
I think the performances have regressed majorly if I'm honest probably the last three games in particular Swansea Southampton and obviously Portsmouth and two of those teams I think we'd expect to be towards the top end of the league but I think it's just the fragility of them I don't necessarily think it's the lack of effort but it definitely is a lack of quality obviously they've lost Motore they're without captain Kenny McLean at the moment and The only two players they had over the age of 25 on the pitch on Saturday was Daniel Grimshaw, who was standing in for number one, Vladan Kovacic and Jack Stacey.
Connor SouthwellGUEST
18:17
So it's a very, very young group.
Connor SouthwellGUEST
18:19
And I think we've seen as a result of that.
John MousinhoSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
36:47
He made the decisive moment there.

Seg's come out onto the left and did a brilliant job Ryan worked his socks off throughout tracking Jack Stacey who was just an excellent player particularly on the break so what we probably would like to do in ideal circumstances if we have Murph and if we have Keshie and if we have Franco available then and even if you have Colby available Tyrese can come and play wide To have those options would be something that we need to try and get to, which we'll hopefully get to slowly.
John MousinhoSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
37:14
So considering all that, I thought the lads did brilliantly well.
Jake SmithHOST
37:18
Yeah, post-match thoughts of John Messina there, speaking with Ian Wilding at Carrow Road.
Connor SouthwellHOST
31:05
I mean, you said it there and you're right.
Connor SouthwellHOST
31:06
It's just Daniel Grimshaw and Jack Stacey who are kind of older than the age of 25.
Connor SouthwellHOST
31:10
So again, I don't want to make this an age point, but again, even in terms of kind of matches that they've played and experiences that they've had, there's very few that maybe have had an experience like this, barring those maybe who were around last season, which becomes problematic then.
Paddy DavittPANELIST
31:24
Absolutely yeah not a good experience if I'm you know I'm thinking I'll just pick out you know like a Schwartau or whatever I mean he went through that and Wright as well and those type of players and it's yeah to be back here again so soon it is a challenge and you know maybe go forward to when Clement came in the building it was you know his first game at Birmingham was Shane Duffy wasn't it and it was Kenny McLean and and tried to get a few more experienced players.
Steve GrantPANELIST
10:53
Drew a decent save from the keeper.
Steve GrantPANELIST
10:56
But also, I think Odozie should get a whole lot of satisfaction, particularly from that goal, because obviously it's Jack Stacey who he's made look a complete mug.
Steve GrantPANELIST
11:05
And it was Stacey that booted him out of basically the rest of our promotion season three years ago.
Steve GrantPANELIST
11:11
So... you don't forget do you he'll have enjoyed that
HazHOST
68:01
They obviously still got Pele Matson.
HazHOST
68:02
You've got Cor- Cordoba, you've got McConville, you've got Jack Stacey.
HazHOST
68:08
So they're still vastly experienced.
HazHOST
68:11
A lot of them are still there from last season as well.
LukeHOST
48:47
I don't even think it's that defender's fault.
LukeHOST
48:49
Like Jack Stacey, the right back, was just nowhere.
BenGUEST
48:52
Mm-hmm.
LukeHOST
48:53
And, uh, you don't want the center back running, running up the wing really, do you, ultimately when, when it comes to the, the nitty-gritty, so- I think the mistakes were...
Dan BrighamPANELIST
10:46
Um, and I think especially first half, we, we were more compact.
Dan BrighamPANELIST
10:50
We still have the issue that Jack Stacey is, uh, and I assume he's been instructed to do this, is bombing on leaving massive no man's land behind him, and poor old McConville's gotta go and fill that space a lot of the time.
Dan BrighamPANELIST
11:04
But I do think the front four were better in the press.
Dan BrighamPANELIST
11:07
Thought Wright and Matson, uh, the gap between them were good as well.
Dan BrighamPANELIST
11:27
And I, I was pretty pleased with how the first half went.
Dan BrighamPANELIST
11:29
I don't think we deserved the lead necessarily, but I don't think, uh, we were, I don't think Swansea were a much better team in the first half.
Dan BrighamPANELIST
11:36
Then second half, as soon as they equalize, and what a disastrous goal that is with once again Jack Stacey halfway up the pitch leaving massive spaces in behind.
Dan BrighamPANELIST
11:46
Um, uh, the fragility was pretty alarming actually.
Adam HarveyGUEST
48:32
Um, and that's why I think we maybe missed our leader in Kenny McLean yesterday, who, who's unavailable for a few weeks through injury.
Adam HarveyGUEST
48:38
Um, but sort of barring him, I think Jack Stacey's the only player over the age of 30 within this group.
Adam HarveyGUEST
48:43
So we are quite a young sort of group.
Adam HarveyGUEST
48:46
Um, and that is a little bit problematic I think, you know.

9 MINS LATER

Alfie HousePANELIST
57:28
We've just had three weeks off.
Alfie HousePANELIST
57:29
Most players haven't gone away.
Alfie HousePANELIST
57:31
The only thing that worries me about Leo Sienza is that Jack Stacey, there aren't many players who I don't like, having not known them at least, but I just think he's a horrible player, and he injures people every time it seems like I come up against him.
Alfie HousePANELIST
57:44
You know, Samardo's had a couple of run-ins with him.
Adam HarveyPANELIST
16:17
Is it more a fact of, you know, you look at kind of the, the average age yesterday, and I know you spoke about this on, on the drive back.
Adam HarveyPANELIST
16:23
Um, you know, and you look sort of through that squad and maybe barring Jack Stacey and Valen Kabakovic, they're, they're all pretty young, um, i- in that starting 11.
Adam HarveyPANELIST
16:31
And you maybe contrast that to Swansea where they had the likes of Kabango who's got a lot of minutes in the Championship under his belt.
Adam HarveyPANELIST
16:37
Jay Fulton's played a lot of football in the Championship.
