Jack Sperling

And that could be good if you switch soon or, like I said, you have multiple resources and inspirations to try to model yourself after.

And so, yeah, it started with Jack Sperling, with Pete Fountain, who was just a fantastic drummer and really kind of gave me my lead into jazz.

My father brought home a Buddy Rich record, so that obsession started.

Getting all those records and trying to learn what Buddy was doing.

My documentaries are watching them play.

You know, I go back and watch them play because I kind of skipped June, not on purpose, but I just wasn't exposed, you know, so I had to go back and understand and enjoy that later.

I kind of went from, like I said, in a jazz end of things from Jack Sperling right into Buddy Rich, yeah.

But yeah, the understanding of, like I said, the history, like where it came from, I just think it's important.
