Jack Russell

Yeah.

It was co-founded in Southern California by lead vocalist Jack Russell and guitarist Mark Kendall.

Kendall.Jack Russell?

Jack Russell.

Wow.

They originally performed under names such as Dante Fox, and they were na- renamed Great White in 1982 by their manager, Alan Niven.

Okay.

And they were still, they were still touring, like, well through the '90s.

And now we're going to hear some of that treasure.

A couple years back, I read the Jack Russell autobiography.

Jack Russell of Great White, that is, and he passed away recently.

And then I've got a hard copy because the book was good enough that I wanted a hard copy.

So I've picked that up and I've kind of been on a bit of a Great White kick.

I think one in Calgary and one in Regina and one in Grand Prairie.

Sort of weird.

And I'm finding all these scraps, like filling up my Jack Russell Great White collection, right? So we're going to hear three songs, one from the beginning of his career, one from the middle, and one from the end of his career.

DJ was on guitar that night, but I got up and played a couple songs.

I was in pretty rough shape too, but I remember watching this very solemn, really kind of serious moment where they do like a Jack Russell and played acoustic with Mark Kendall and they were raising money for Ty's unborn child and then Joe gets up there and just... start saying there was no fire.

He's like, there's no fire.

We talk about it now.
