JACK Quartet

One is through Nova Linea Musica, the chamber music series that also calls itself a new music incubator.

That piece is called Dahlia After the Flower and will be performed by the Jack Quartet.

That's going to be at 6.30 Wednesday at Guarneri Hall in the heart of downtown Chicago.

The other premiere will be Saturday at the Logan Center for the Arts, which is part of the University of Chicago.

And I saw Dahlia, and they were just very striking.

So I asked people around me, what is that flower? And they told me it was Dahlia.

And I was thinking about a Jack Quartet piece at that time, and I was like, okay, this piece is going to be called Dahlia.

And at that point, I didn't have any musical ideas.

Luckily for us, I mean, there is a good system to use now called Heiji, which has been getting more popular, and a lot of performers these days read that notation as well.

The Jack Quartet is really great with it, and Friction, of course, also reads that.

Yeah, so it is just a musical system that's based on pure tuning.

And the Just Intonation etudes, are they etudes in the sense that each movement is focusing on a particular technique or a particular type of tuning?
