Jack Noseworthy

I said you left out the best one.

And that's Jack Noseworthy.

Jack Noseworthy is one of the main characters, or one of the focal points of Event Horizon, one of my favorite sci-fi films.

And then also...

And Fred Willard.

Jack knows worthy.

And I've talked about this multiple times through the years in this podcast.

Jack Noseworthy was the main character in an MTV series TV show called Dead at 21.

Let's run through the cast.

We have Laurence Fishburne as Captain Miller, Sam Neill as Dr William Weir, Kathleen Quinlan as Peters, Jolie Richardson as Lieutenant Stark, Richard T. Jones as Cooper, Jack Noseworthy as Justin aka Baby Bear, Jason Isaacs as DJ and Sean Pertwee as Smith.

Event Horizon was written by Philip Eisner and was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson but he's credited as Paul Anderson.

He added the initials W.S. to his name in 1999 to avoid confusion with Paul Thomas Anderson so he was officially Paul Anderson in the Director's Guild and and Paul Thomas Anderson was officially Paul Anderson in the Writers Guild.

Limited time was available to develop trailers, posters and promotional materials.

He described the final theatrical poster as particularly unsatisfactory, saying that you could throw a plate at the screen and randomly select a better image.

Producer Jeremy Bolt lobbied hard for a poster of Jack Noseworthy as Justin in his space suit in the meat grinder-like containment to the Gravity Drive, and Anderson agreed it would have been better than the final poster design.

And like I said, this was coming from the same studio as Star Trek, so it did make sense to position it as more of a space adventure.

But yeah, Devon Sala, Jessica Alba plays his love interest in it.

Jack Noseworthy is their friend across the street who's all into metal and everything, so he knows all this stuff about the devil.

And I believe, is it Vivica A. Fox? I believe so.

the Wiccan who's looking for the demon and so if you haven't seen the movie I don't want to spoil it but it's really a lot of fun basically his hand gets possessed so he cuts his hand off thinking that will stop the problem and the hand just takes on a life of its own it's a great movie a lot of fun there is one joke in there that I've always thought was funny and I could never figure out why.

Hey, ka-ching.

Jack-

Yeah

... you were talking about working at the theater when this came out?

Mm-hmm

... movies.

Whatever Jack said earlier.

I said a bunch.

Is that Sam Neill?

Sam Neill's in that movie, but it's Jack, Jack Noseworthy is the kid that, that has to blow out all the air.

I, I don't know.

I haven't seen...

Oh, wait.

Jack Noseworthy.

Hey, now.

As Justin.

Personally, I love this cast, even though they are like the also rams, because it's all of the also rams.

Like, that's pretty fun.

I had this weird obsession with Jack Noseworthy because he was on the MTV produced thriller show dead at 21.

I don't even remember this.

So it, again, it isn't long before they start realizing something bad is happening.

And, and different members of the crew, well, first, uh, the c- the, um, character of Justin, played by Jack Noseworthy, is checking out the engine room, and he sees the drive start up, and a black hole opens up and kinda sucks him in and, and pulls him away.

And later, when the character of Cooper, who I really liked the first time I watched the movie, but he has, uh, grown to be more irritating, like-

Oh, yeah

So w- and again, it's, it's kind of like, well, if it doesn't want it, you to leave, why does it wanna kill you so horribly? Or maybe that's why it doesn't want you to leave, so it can kill you horribly.

But again, that's one of the thing that makes this movie so unsettling, is because you're not granted answers for everything.

So, um, Jack Noseworthy's character goes into an airlock, and this is something that's almost out of Outland, if you've seen that movie with Sean Connery.

He starts setting up.

It's got, oh, Kathleen Quinlan.

It's got the wonderfully named Jack Noseworthy.

Sure, yeah.

And then you've got Sam Neill, who is like, you know, these guys, this is just like a crew that understands how to operate their ship.

Top cast, you have Lawrence Fishburne, Sam Neill, Kathleen Quinlan.

Jolie Richardson, Richard T. Jones, Jack Noseworthy, what a name, and Jason Isaacs, and Sean Pertwee.

Lucius

Malfoy.
