Jack Nesbitt

Let's just say this.

Jack Nesbitt is the kind of player that the Red Wings have drafted a lot, and I would like less of that.

And J.P. Hurlburt is the kind of player they haven't drafted very much, and I would like more of it.

I don't know if Hurlburt will work.

um but he's a guy that he went 12th overall by the flyers which was too high um okay he was generally in the 20s on most boards but he he was picked higher than he should have been because he's really big and that's the main thing um There's a lot of similarities in what you read about him with Nate Danielson, if you're a Red Wings fan, which most Red Wings fans would not be happy to hear that.

But that's not a slur on what Nesbitt will be as a college hockey player.

College Michigan player, yeah.

It's like, okay, so would you have done better to then go try and make a move? The problem is I don't think we have the pieces to go get straight up trade for Carlson.

So we had a conversation recently about Jack Nesbitt last season and how, you know, we're, okay, we're told he's, like, a project, and then he's in camp till, like, the last week, you know? [laughs] Like, oh, okay, he stuck around a lo- around a lot longer, and perhaps son of, of that- Was posturing by the front office to be like, "No, we didn't screw up the pick.

You're, you're, you're wrong.

You're wrong, Colonel Sanders." Um [laughs] You get, like you said, the people up on the perch, the media, these practices are obviously well-attended by Flyers media.

Could be one of those blooming late stars.

I don't think he projects to be like top-of-the-line-up type of guy, but I think he also, once again, people talk about Berglund, and they talk about Luchenko, and Nesbitt being third-line centers, which I think is nonsense.

I think Gard actually falls in that category of like...

This guy could be a legitimate bottom six threat at the NHL level.

You know, you would hope that he'd have some backup there.

But overall, I thought just really solid showing for the entire crop.

And again, like, key names missing from this group... uh, Heike Rohonen, Jack Murtag, Shane Van Sagi, Jack Nesbitt, Carter Amico, Max, uh, Westergaard, right? Like those names alone, you add them to this group and you can like make an AHL roster out of those.

I thought he was less, significantly less noticeable on Sunday, but he showed why they like him.

He is, as I mentioned last week when we were going through the prospects, he's basically junior varsity Jack Nesbitt.

He plays with some edge.

He's got some skill.
