So Quantum Break is a third person action game with cover shooter mechanics.
T
9:21Terry JeffsHOST
The game's protagonist is Jack Joyce, and it starts in medias res at the fictional Riverport University set in the northeastern United States.
T
9:30Terry JeffsHOST
He is there with his gifted brother, William Joyce, who works at the university at physics, uh, as a physics scientist.
T
9:37Terry JeffsHOST
They are experimenting with time travel, and at the start of the game it is revealed right away that the experiments have gone wrong.
T
13:11Terry JeffsHOST
Something like that, yeah.
T
13:11Terry JeffsHOST
Yeah, which was about, you know, a man jumping through time and all that kind of stuff.
T
13:14Terry JeffsHOST
So, uh, the main, the, the main character, Jack Joyce, is played by Shawn Ashmore.
T
13:20Terry JeffsHOST
That's him, yeah.
"Hey, Mike, Whatcha Playin / Watchin / Readin?"
M
8:19MikeHOST
So, how much am I going to share? The story is kind of...
M
8:25MikeHOST
It starts off super interesting and super intriguing and it just becomes... kind of convoluted at the end we are dealing with time travel in the narrative and until we got to the third act i was kind of all on board and then i just kind of lost the plot a little bit but because we were dealing with time travel and time manipulation and quantum mechanics and things like that they incorporated that into the gameplay itself so the main character who is played by sean ashmore The main character's name is Jack Joyce.
M
8:56MikeHOST
Right in the beginning, because of like a quantum physics accident, yeah, the lore is too much to get into just for this review.
M
9:05MikeHOST
But Jack Joyce develops the ability to either stop time, to manipulate time, to blink forward in time.
M
9:14MikeHOST
And that's all through gameplay, right? You can, you can stop a kind of, you can create like a time bubble, which you can throw out to an enemy or a group of enemies and that stops them in their tracks or it slows them to a crawl, gives you the opportunity to get away or gives you the opportunity to go in the offensive.
M
9:31MikeHOST
Likewise, you can do the reverse.
M
11:13MikeHOST
What makes them unique, too, is that there are things you can do in each subsequent act before the episode starts that can alter the scene in different ways.
M
11:23MikeHOST
Nothing substantial, like you don't get a different ending or anything.
602 - Land of the Lustrous part 4
D
29:07dakazuHOST
like in Island Wake yeah
D
29:10darfox8HOST
exactly in Island Wake 2 you didn't have Max Payne you had Alex Casey which is basically this axiom character and you didn't have Jack Joyce from Quantum Break you had Tim Breaker yes which obviously is a joke of time breaker because quantum break without without about you know time travel so so like yeah um which big part of why i'm excited for any revenue game like oh i wonder what they're going to add to like the lore or when they're like who's going to cameo and what's going to happen it's going to you know that sounds pretty fun
D
29:43dakazuHOST
Yeah, absolutely.
D

I've been playing for maybe like 10 hours and doing a bunch of side quests and traveling around because it's open world.
