The scripts were written by absolute heavyweights like David E. Kelley and Dennis Lehane.

Great writers.

But television allows for deep, slow burn character exploration.

You have an entire hour just to establish a psychological baseline.

Television allowed Jack Bender and his team to capture the acoustic guitar intimacy of King's character work that a film would've had to cut for time.

And King clearly appreciates this format.
