Joining me today, Jack Alexy, coming off a very respectable Pan Pacific Championship.

After having sickness this summer, battling some transitional time between college and becoming a professional, he still popped off three gold medals, one silver, very good swims, close to his personal best.

But across the pond, across the Atlantic, a European Championship, in the men's 100 freestyle Popovitch 46.500 free, Karnak 46.7, and Kristof Milak decides he's going to be a sprinter now, not doing the 200 fly anymore.

This is a very real conversation.

... audience we had on the stream and, um, I felt like because there were no British swimmers, we could be a little bit different with our...

Like, I was overly critical of Jack Alexy on that, but-

You were kind of harsh as well, yeah

And yeah, you can, like you can compare times going all the way across the world, but I do think, like, it's, you can't always compare two meets 'cause you don't really know the, the circumstances going on in each one.

So, like, Jack Alexy went 47.1, but, like, if he was in Paris doing the 100, he probably would've gone 46 knowing next to those other three boys he was going 46.

So, you know, um-

... that was a big deal for her.

Um, but the, on the men's side, I think, uh, Americans-wise, Gabe Jett in the 200 free, that was huge, 1:43.9. Um, [clears throat] and I think Jack Alexy gutting out that 47.1 100 free win after the season that he's had, um, I think is good.

I could, I think there were a lot of swims that probably didn't live up to expectations.

I mean, um, but I, I think we've, [chuckles] we've talked about 'em kind of enough.

Right

... that's the exciting thing is, is...

I mean, he's been, he's been a contender before, but now it feels like we're really coming into his time of all right, he's, he's the new guy, and I'm hoping for many more match-ups with Popovich, and I'm hoping for, you know, uh, some battles with, um, with Jack Alexy, and with, like-
