It's been revealed local Victorian Jewish leaders called on then State Premier Jacinta Allan for increased police protection two months before a synagogue was firebombed.

Jewish leaders suggested in the letter the Victorian government was warned of the threat of violence spearheaded by Iran and its supporters almost 10 weeks before the attack on the Adass Israel Synagogue.

The letter, seen by The Australian, was part of a tranche of documents requested by the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion.

Let's take a look as well, uh, another story on the front page, Iran called to arms, raised with police before attack.

Victorian, uh, former Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan was warned by local Jewish leaders of international escalations driven by Iran in a private plea for increased police protection mains, made soon before the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps orchestrated Adass Israel synagogue firebombing.

A letter to Ms. Allan from Jewish Community Council of Victoria President Philip Zajac and Executive Council of Australian Jewry President Daniel Aggiman suggests the Victorian Government was alerted to the threat of violence driven by Iran and its proxies almost 10 weeks before the firebombing.

I mean, look, seriously.

And the fact that it's now been shown that leaders have sat on their hands is an absolute blight on this country.

Absolutely.

And again, I, Jacinta Allan, I have to say, has been an absolute dead weight-

This legislation is black and white, it's hard and fast, uh, and it gives employers very little flexibility, uh, to move.

After taking over from Jacinta Allan, new Victorian Premier Ben Carroll delayed introducing the laws to Parliament and indicated he may be willing to tweak the legislation as part of what he called a reset with the business community.

He's met with groups like the Business Council and the Australian Industry Group to try and find a solution.

But in a statement, the business groups have said while the concessions Premier Carroll offered were significant, they did not fix what they called the flawed legislation.

And here's the thing, it was approved by the Corrective Services Commissioner, Gary McKon.

So as I said, the male at, at birth inmate undertook gender realignment surndry, uh, surgery, and entered the prison sy- system at Silverwater Prison in New South Wales, uh, on assault occasioning actual bodily harm charges, and now is being transferred despite, uh, the New South Wales government or the premier only a couple of months ago admitting that, yes, that biological men do not- ... belong in women's prisons, but we're yet to see actually anything done o- on that.

I really, really worry about this because there are a number of women in prisons who are victims of domestic violence themselves, and there have been a number of alleged incidents.

Uh, for example, in, uh, South Australia, allegations of sexual assault against a female prisoner by a trans prisoner.

In Western Australia, a man accused of domestic violence against his fema- female partner, um, was placed in a women's prison after they decided to use the self-ID laws, which are in place across the country, to then change his gender.

And you recall that story last year of a Victorian man who raped his own child, then decided to identify as a woman, and was put into an all-female prison, and the former [smacks lips] premier of Victoria, Jacinta Allan, was, uh, doing cartwheels over it at the time.

Didn't wanna know about it, despite the fact that this person had raped their own child and was being transferred into a female-only jail and, and was in close quarters with, with biological women.

Um, I- I- I just, I don't understand why our political system is so weak on this.
