So you've got three guys who have played at least 115 snaps, four that have played at least 90 snaps on the edge.

And then on the interior, Bryson Lamb has played at least 180 snaps, Zemir Hawk has played at least 180 snaps, and then you're getting good rotational snaps as well from Jace Gilbert, 142 snaps, and Max Balloon, 142 snaps.

Like, they do have a good rotation, I think of four defensive tackles and then the Crawford injury kind of makes this complicated, but, um, two or three defensive ends that you feel like that they can count on to at least give them some, some competitiveness off the edge.

Yeah, and I really like the way they can impact a game.

Then Bode申over, um, is BYU.

And then you have Zemir Hawk and Jace Gilbert, and then BYU's Kian- Keanu Tanevasa, then Max Balloon.

So, like, they're basic- And they're all pretty much right around each other.

But Iowa State has a group of, you know, interior defensive linemen that you feel pretty good about, whereas BYU has two.

There was definitely some stuff where they turned it from, like, there was one play specifically, I think it was when we were down a touchdown, and they got in the backfield right away, and they had a chance to bring him down about f- four or five yards behind the line of scrimmage.

Jace Gilbert got a hand on him, and he broke it and then broke another one, and then they got, turned it into, like, a six-yard gain instead of a five-yard loss, and it was like...

That was one where it's like, man, if you coulda got that, the momentum is totally in Iowa State's favor.

Like, it's, the whole thing swung completely the other direction, and just didn't get there.

Um, the...

It was after the offense scored to get within seven, and there was the unsportsmanlike conduct, a late hit called on Jace Gilbert, and I thought, "Okay, it's over now.

Dead man walking.

They're gonna go down and score." And then the defense bowed up again.

Again, I, I get the impression that they, that that pre-snap stuff got them more than most fans probably realize in the first half, Ben.

And I was, I was really impressed with them, too.

After the Jace Gilbert thing, you get the big stop.

Foolish penalty.

That's the theme of that defensive line is they just, they, they bust their ass every single play.

Yeah, I would, I would say Janikowski and Jace Gilbert have flashed more than Bobby Turrell the last two, you know, two games.

But-

And, and watch, like, watch, watch Zameer Hawk play now, 'cause he's a holdover from the last, from the last staff.

Yep, that's right.

So if you're highlighting players, we don't usually do players to highlight, but the most important guys this weekend could be Max Balloon, Bryson Lamb, Jace Gilbert, who had a great play on Saturday, and Zemir Hawke.

Cause I think like, I trust like Jack Janikowski and Bobby Terrell and some of those other DNs to just contain.
