Jace Beck

In case I want to throw together a graphic for the podcast, I can go with three players here.

My player is Jace Beck.

I'm really surprised by the season that Jace Beck...

Obviously, he was a minor league signing.

I think it was last December he was a minor league signing.

The Cubs bring him in, Cubs sign him.

He goes to double A where he starts as a reliever and then ends up converting over into the rotation where he just absolutely takes off.

He goes up for a cup of coffee up in Iowa mid-season and then was sent back down where there were people... within the Cubs organization that felt that, that Jace Beck was the best pitcher that the Iowa Cubs had when he was down in double a in Knoxville.

I've been corrected every time I say it, apparently incorrectly.

Since we're talking about the Cubs, since we're talking about the Cubs at the trade deadline, the Cubs sent Jace Beck and Jonathan Long to the Marlins organization for Braxton Garrett.

And it bolstered the depth of the Marlins at the AAA level, which is what we're talking about right now.

So I'm looking at the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

Sometimes the lines in AAA, like they just throw you a bone.

The kid that they're going to start, he's not really a kid though.

But the pitcher that they're going to start, his name is Jace Beck.

He was kind of a failed prospect for a couple different organizations.
