So do you have a cover of the first one of the variants that you saw that you liked more than others?

Well, I don't want to shoot the load of the Hey Kids audience who may be listening to our discussion of this, but I've got the J. Scott Campbell cover.

And I maintain this was a mistake on my part.

So I think I have accidentally highlighted.

Now, fortunately, I got a cover that I liked.

I quite like J. Scott Campbell.

So I got a cover that I'm not bothered about.

I, I saw his work affect Mark Silvestri's, uh, uh, figure work and some of the gestures.

It carried on into the '90s to the studio crews, and, uh, mo- most heavily with someone like a J. Scott Campbell.

There was a c- there was a, a, a, an artist named Dusty Abel that, uh, that was on the comic scene briefly but had a huge Art Adams aesthetic.

Uh, Joe Madureira was very open, uh, in, in the influence that Art had on his work, especially early on in the, uh, original "Deadpool" miniseries and some of the stuff that, that, that Joe was doing right out the gate.

The, let's call it the Image guys.

Then you get the second generation of Image guys, which I'll go J. Scott Campbell, I'll go Joe Madureira.

For sure.

Granted, if you can-- He's not gonna draw a face like J. Scott Campbell for, for a female character, but the purpose-- the, the point is he's conveying his style, his mood, his, uh, version of storytelling, and it's, it's so difficult because it's no different than, uh, creating the most successful logos in the world, right?

Yeah.

Logos have to read visually in one shot.

But I remember reading those issues and being like, holy hell.

J. Scott Campbell, same thing.

I would argue, and I know everybody is going to give me shit because J. Scott Campbell is known for drawing very cheesecake-y artwork and sexy ladies and all that stuff.

However, the original Danger Girl series, the original Danger Girl comic book, is one of the most visually stunning visual stories.

I absolutely agree with you.

We had so many great, great artists.

I mentioned J. Scott Campbell, and there was also Travis Sharae, Jim Lee, of course.

So many great artists.

And we would hire...

So I got a couple of, uh, artist additions and I don't think I've talked about this on the pod.

So I got the J. Scott Campbell artist additions in, um, it was danger girl and wild ciders.

These fucking books are amazing, man.

These days, I don't spend a lot of money on much of anything besides food.

I like going out for a nice meal.

But the other thing I do buy is artist editions, like nice artist books I really enjoy.

J. Scott Campbell is one of my favorite artists.

He's one of my bedrock foundation pieces, you would say, for how I draw.

Um, but I have not read that series.

So alias celebrating 25 years, also 25 years ago, GI Joe from devil's do and image comics by Josh Blaylock, Steve Kurth, Brian Miller on colors with that very noticeable J. Scott Campbell cover.

And just like the first review I'm going to discuss, I bought...

some extra copies of the J. Scott Campbell's Danger Girl Artist Edition and the J. Scott Campbell's Wildsiders Artist Edition as part of the Slipcase Edition, the signed Slipcase Edition.

And I was able to sell one of those through the website and one through eBay.

So that really helped with my costs, which I thought were crazy on this book.

There's just too many areas of interest.

I will be focusing on retail books like I have been.

in the past unless it's something so unique so absolutely wonderful that i can't get any other way sort of like the star wars the star wars manga slipcase amazing book something like that would maybe draw me back but it's going to be very selective what's out there all right so what i did here As I say, I got the J. Scott Campbell's Danger Girl Wildsiders Slipcase Edition, which has a – so that was the two artist editions, canvas slipcase, with a signed page in the Danger Girl artist edition, nothing in the Wildsiders.

It was interesting that it was signed but not numbered.
