And I feel like families was definitely one of them.

Yeah, I think so much of who we are and sort of who we've become is shaped by how we grow up and are sort of our family of origin.

And I think it was really important for me that Julia and Dominic, you know, it's sort of like a rivals to lovers story.

So I wanted them to kind of have very opposite personalities and experiences, but also some touchstones.

And I'm a huge believer that like opposites attract.

I think, you know, I always like joke about my first date with my now fiance, I like showed up and he was like, sitting there at this cool craft brewery, like reading this literary fiction book and I was like you know arriving with my like cute little pink tote bag with like my saucy romance in it and I was like oh god this man is so cool like um but I think like you know we were very opposite in that sense but then what we really bonded over was like the shared love of reading And I think Dominic and Juliet are very similar in that sense, you know, to my fiance and I, in that Dominic grew up in a very different family than Juliet.
