What did you make of the film?

[chuckles] I thought it was absolutely brilliant, almost unqualified success.

Uh, it, it lacked hu- the humor of, of the original Odyssey, and I think I might have cast someone like Ryan Reynolds as Odysseus, just because I think, uh, Matt Damon lacks a sense of humor, or at least he does in the film.

But other than that, I- I've ne- I've never been so terrified by the idea of the Cyclops as I was in that film.

A- a- it sort of-- I came out of it feeling like I'd been to a horror movie, which makes sense.

I mean, you know, i- in Homer's time, they really would've felt the, the terror of, of Odysseus in the cave and, and his visit to the underworld is, is absolutely breathtaking.

I, I-- They-- There've been all these conservative critiques about using a transgender person or something, but I didn't know who it was, and I still don't, and so I don't care.
