So I've been in the role since November last year and we sort of officially launched publicly in February of this year.

we were established really because there's been an increasingly growing gap between the ambition and delivery around Aotearoa's climate response and it was kind of amazing to me even at the end of last year when I was asked about my interest in this role that how did we get to 2025 without a climate foundation in New Zealand considering how we kind of present ourselves to the rest of the world and I think that was an interesting revelation for me at the time thinking about it now you know, it's really obvious.

And even with some of the people on this call, what we haven't lacked in New Zealand is clever, experienced, passionate expertise around climate change or, um, you know, understanding where New Zealand's emissions reductions are.

Um, and so with the widening gap, like what is it that we are missing if we have all of these things in one area? And that's the sort of space that we really want to play in is, uh, identifying and understanding the technically sound solutions, which we know.
