Some of us who are in this room attended that over 40 years ago.

And after the workshops were completed, and I'd like to acknowledge her presence here somewhere, Ivy Bannister said, look, why don't we meet on a regular basis? And we did.

And 40 years later, we are still meeting as a group of women writers.

The solidarity, the support that I think is shared is absolutely essential for every one of us.
