and the one who becomes priest is zadok which if you know the history of that zadok and his descendants then are promised to continue on even into ezekiel's prophecy about ezekiel 40-48 so really interesting fulfillment there to the letter saying yes uh eli your family is going to be put aside which by the way i think eli's family if you trace the genealogies you can trace him to to Ithamar's family.

So Aaron has four sons, Nadab and Abihu both die.

And then you have Ithamar and Eleazar, his two other sons.

Well, I think Ithamar, his sons are Eli's line.

And then Eleazar, he ends up giving birth through generations to Zadok.

So it's interesting that you have that in play.

Not all Levites are priests.

Because all the priests are Aaron's lineage, all right? The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

Remember Nadab and Abihu? Right? They did bad, okay? Eleazar was the father of Phineas.

Phineas was the father of Abishua.

So they went near and carried them in their coats out of the camp.

As Moses had said, Verse 6, And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar, and unto Ithamar his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes, lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people.

But let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord Jehovah hath kindled.

And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die.

Verse 10 and 11. that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean.

And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord Yahweh hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar, and unto Ithamar his sons that were left.

Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the Lord Jehoiada, made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar, for it is most holy." and ye shall eat it in the holy place because it is thy due and thy sons due of the sacrifices of the lord made by fire for so i am commanded and the way breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place thou and thy sons and thy daughters with thee for they be thy due and thy sons due which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of israel verse 15 the heave shoulder and the way breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat to wave it for a wave offering before the Lord Jehovah, and it shall be thine and thy sons with thee by a statute forever, as the Lord Jehovah hath commanded.

Chapter 6.

The sons of Levi, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari, and the sons of Kohath, Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uziel, and the children of Amram, Aaron and Moses, and Miriam, and the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar, eleazar begat phaneus phaneus begat abushua and abushua begat buki and buki begat uzi and uzi begat zerahiah and zerahiah begat meraiath and meraiath begat amariah and amariah begat atub and atub begat And Zadok begat Ahimaaz, and Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan.

And Johanan begat Azariah, he it is that executed the priest's office and the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem.

And Azariah begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Eitub, and Eitub begat Zadok.

These were the sons of Levi after their father's houses.

End of chapter 23 Chapter 24 And the courses of the sons of Aaron were these, the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children.

SO IN VERSE 21, THIS IS THE SUM OF THE TABERNACLE.

EVEN OF THE TABERNACLE OF TESTIMONY, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses for the service of the Levites by the hand of Ithamar, son of Aaron, the priest.

And so this verse is making sure that it's talking about the tabernacle proper.

Only Aaron and his descendants served as priests.

They presented the offerings on the altar of burnt offerings and the altar of incense, and they performed all the other duties related to the most holy place.

Okay? And then two, Eleazar and Ithamar continued the course.

And Eleazar had Phinehas who continued the course and all the sons of Aaron who became the priests all the way down to the exile into Babylon.
