Ron DoveGUEST

Right.
Ron DoveGUEST
2:43
So similar to ISO 9001, you know, the quality standard.
Ron DoveGUEST
2:47
This is an environmental standard.
Russel TreatHOST
2:49
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Vasco DuarteGUEST
3:24
And that's great if you run a business.
Vasco DuarteGUEST
3:27
Now, ISO 9000 or whatever standards that we need to meet, and there are plenty out there, may impact on your feedback loops.
Vasco DuarteGUEST
3:37
But if you're an agile person with an agile mindset, you will be able to reduce feedback loops even within the constraints of a a compliance framework, and that's what agile really means.
Vasco DuarteGUEST
3:46
It's reducing the time it takes to learn about whatever, whether it's a technical question, a business question, it doesn't matter.
Susan RalphGUEST
23:21
Yeah, and then to, to try to, you know, sustain certification.
Susan RalphGUEST
23:25
We're ISO 9000.
Susan RalphGUEST
23:27
We were AS 9100.
Susan RalphGUEST
23:29
Um, and it just the cost to maintain it, you know, it, our customers are not looking for added value.

I'm your host, and today we're diving deep into one of the most overlooked but critical elements of a successful management system, how we communicate data, and more importantly, how we tell stories with data.
speaker_0HOST
0:34
Now, if you're already working with an ISO 9001 quality management system, for example, especially under 6.2, you'll know that setting quality objectives is one thing.
speaker_0HOST
0:45
Monitoring them, communicating them, driving decisions from them, that's where the rubber really meets the road.
speaker_0HOST
0:52
Let me ask you this.
speaker_0HOST
1:08
Maybe it looked impressive but said absolutely nothing.
speaker_0HOST
1:12
That right there is the problem we're going to solve today.
speaker_0HOST
1:15
We're going to unpack what makes data visuals actually work, how they can support a business strategy, influence decision makers, and align perfectly with ISO 9001's emphasis on clarity, relevance, and continual improvement.
speaker_0HOST
1:31
Because let's be clear, ISO 9001 doesn't just want you to collect data, it wants you to use it.
Gareth KaneHOST
27:48
Yeah.
Gareth KaneHOST
27:48
But could you get into a sort of contradictory position? You know, once upon a time I used to work on ISO 9000 for my sins.
Gareth KaneHOST
27:56
Glad I'm not doing that anymore.
Gareth KaneHOST
27:58
The quality standard, the quality equivalent of ISO 14001 for listeners.
Robert PassikoffGUEST
1:26
We recognized that satisfaction was going to be, which was very big when I started out, we recognized that that was going to be the price of entry.
Robert PassikoffGUEST
1:42
You know, you jump ahead from the beginning of real modern advertising in the 20th century, you end up at a point where The total quality movement, the ISO 9000 movement really turned everything into pretty much the same.
Robert PassikoffGUEST
2:05
I mean, from a quality perspective, from a privacy product or service perspective.
Robert PassikoffGUEST
2:11
And the only real difference was the brand and what we've tracked from, oh God, well, from the late 1980s through now is that the engagement process and the consumer decision process has become more emotional than it is rational because it's the old story.
Rosie SherryHOST
18:49
I'm curious, what's the state of quality management systems as you've seen it from your research?
Melissa FisherGUEST
18:58
Yeah, so there's a standard called the ISO 9001 around this quality.
Melissa FisherGUEST
19:05
And this is really where it stems from, looking at those quality management systems.
Melissa FisherGUEST
19:10
And then the research that I've done is where it has originated is in manufacturing.

29 MINS LATER

Melissa FisherGUEST
48:07
so.
Melissa FisherGUEST
48:14
I mean, I've talked about a few kind of exercises that you can do throughout this, like taking a step back, looking at your whole system.
Melissa FisherGUEST
48:22
The ISO 9001 stuff and quality is a good read and that's a good standard to follow.
Melissa FisherGUEST
48:31
So I'd recommend going and having a read of that.
David GalikGUEST
24:19
And so that, from a core, you're going, great, we have all the building blocks that we need.
David GalikGUEST
24:26
They were ISO 9001 already, and we've maintained that certification.
David GalikGUEST
24:31
So you know that there's some structure there, and you always wonder, you know, I've been through AS9100 and other other certifications.
David GalikGUEST
24:42
And so you're always like, well, how deep does this go? And they really had a good process mind here.

29 MINS LATER

David GalikGUEST
53:39
And so she was pretty nervous for our research.
David GalikGUEST
53:43
You know, I was like, gosh, what's it going to be like with ProShop and all that? And all of the comments that anybody who's listening to this has heard on Manufacturing Transformed or Machine Shop Mastery are spot on.
David GalikGUEST
53:57
pro shop it's like you have to resist doing it uh you know to not be iso 9001 yeah i mean it's just you know and it is uh just so easy to create the non-conformance and then that set up the review and it's so easy to have all your documentation right there in pro shop so i just love that it is built around that and for it to be the MES, QMS, and the ERP is really powerful for a shot car size.
David GalikGUEST
54:31
I mean, just getting so much power in that and it makes it really easy.
Phil ChristyGUEST
19:28
We are moving towards that way to do that.
Phil ChristyGUEST
19:31
to the ISO 9000 kind of standard.
Phil ChristyGUEST
19:33
So it's repeatable.
Phil ChristyGUEST
19:35
It's predictable.

The second thing is that I've had to do several security audits for security companies, security points of fintechs.
Henry KoblerGUEST
2:12
and i'll tell you this most of the companies really just go through the security requirements and audits just to pass them and it's it's one of the worries that i can say a bank of ghana should be looking at where if a car if a company is going through iso 27001 iso 9000 iso any of the isos that is sort of probably going through any of the audits that they're going through it is really hitting the the original platforms not just the environment but it's really hitting the original platforms again i'm sure that the sandbox that the regulator the bank of ghana really has released shouldn't just be a playoff um it should be something that should really be open up to to quite a lot the businesses because again as much as we can be able to play within the sandbox bank of ghana is able to now look into the operations very well look at the technical platforms in itself look at the financial breakthroughs in itself and should be able to have some level of oversight i'm sure that apis um coming in from some of these companies where the regulator can have some sort of regulatory oversight in terms of the direct transactions that are sort of going through would be one of the things that would help i've seen it's not really working telecoms have oversights on momo and all that we really haven't seen the best of it but i think that it's one of the ways where uh the regulator can have some proper oversight of of the transaction regimes of some of the fintechs
Daryl KwauHOST
3:34
All right.

The latest on that is that the Bank of Ghana has migrated funds on Zipi Wireless for their customers to other dedicated electronic money issuers.
