And the attacker is neither Al-Qaeda nor the Taliban.

He is from Islamic State Khorasan, ISIS-K, which is itself a sworn enemy of the Taliban.

So the world is becoming more fragmented and less safe in real time at this point.

And that sense of chaos, I think, is, is what a collapsing state looks like.

But if it was, he has been so successful.

It was part of his plan.

I used to read, there was a, there was a, a publication produced for Islamic State called Dabiq.

It's named after a, a town in, in Syria that used to get produced with very high production values.

And, like, a bunch of land that we had fought for we were losing to ISIS.

And the truth is in 2007, 2007, that's 18 years before the attack happened, There was an alert to the National Security Hotline about Sajid Akram, his interest in explosives.

Another alert about him and his interest in Islamic State in 2014.

But when ASIO did their 2019 assessment, they didn't have that early information.

And then the pair traveled to terror hotspots.

It was a genocide.
